Our Driver may be autonomous, but Waymo's finances are steered by experts like you. The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner closely with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing cutting edge compensation initiatives and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support the company's short- and long-term future.

In this hybrid role, you will report into our Head of Strategic Finance, Commercial Finance and Corp FP&A.

You will:

  • Engage with business and finance partners to provide strong financial oversight for business decision support including items such as deal reviews, purchase order approvals, cost center management, and approval of vendor requests
  • Maintain budgeting and forecasting tools and processes and be a point person for finance system expertise including: Planning Analytics for forecasting, SAP ERP for actuals, procure to pay tools, invoice and payment systems and custom built internal reporting tools
  • Own and evolve the company's detailed payroll and equity forecast models, providing critical insights into our largest operating expense to support both immediate financial reporting and long-range strategic planning.
  • Drive the complete cash forecasting process, from model creation to variance analysis, to continuously improve forecast accuracy and deliver actionable insights on company liquidity and working capital to leadership.
  • Work with cost center owners and their finance business partners to develop and maintain rolling monthly and annual forecasts, understanding sources of variances and uncertainty
  • Support the annual planning process and the development of budgets on an annual cycle, which will prioritize our resources and provide guidance to the business
  • Serve as a point of contact for Accounting and Controls (A&C) to liaise with Waymo business partners on a number of key finance objectives
  • Assist in the preparation of Waymo financial statements in partnership with A&C and preparing executive presentations for budget, forecast and business analysis
  • Synthesize financial forecasts, actual results, and other strategic/business analysis into presentations to executives, our Board of Directors and investors

You have:

  • 7+ years' experience in Corporate FP&A
  • Stellar business acumen with strong financial modeling skills and deep understanding of financial statements
  • Experience with managing and maintaining forecasting systems
  • Strategic and critical thinking mindset: able to think multiple steps ahead on the implications of financial decisions
  • The knack for building effective cross-functional relationships
  • The ability to present thoughtful input to ongoing debates and discussions
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment
  • Highly effective communicator and influencer (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
  • BS/BA/MBA in Finance, CFA Certification, Accounting or Business related subject areas

We prefer:

  • Industry knowledge or interest in the rideshare, automotive, or autonomous vehicle industries is a plus
  • Software or other tech industry experience is a plus

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
