The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, systems expertise, and the ability to navigate complex operational environments while driving efficient, well-controlled accounting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Own and oversee accounting activities within the CCA Inventory Mainframe System (IMS) , including:
    • Monitoring daily transactions
    • Managing month-end reporting
    • Identifying errors and partnering with IT and Operations to resolve issues
    • Assessing accounting impacts to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support Accounts Payable processes by approving manual payments and reviewing payments on hold due to audit flags or missing banking information.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and other CCA teams on warehouse processes and special or non-routine transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Consult with cross-functional partners and recommend accounting solutions for non-standard transactions, leveraging existing system processes and minimizing manual workarounds where possible.
  • Review and approve user access requests for CCA Controllership-owned systems.
  • Perform semi-annual user access reviews and remediation activities to maintain compliance with internal controls.
  • Maintain awareness of system changes (both Controllership-owned and non-owned), assess accounting impacts, and communicate relevant updates to the team.
  • Maintain and update mainframe tables that impact accounting transactions and reporting processes, as required.
  • Support CCA and corporate system implementations (e.g., PFM/SPOBARs replacement, WMS, Amazon Warehouse, DSW International Freight Forwarding) by identifying financial touchpoints and ensuring accounting integrity and accuracy.
  • Perform control owner walkthroughs with internal and external auditors (EY and FA), covering inventory and cost of sales transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Partner with the Intercompany team to investigate and resolve accounts receivable imbalances between CCA and foreign allied entities.
  • Provide accounting guidance and support to non-CCA teams (e.g., GM Energy, GMD, PPO) related to inventory transactions and accounting topics.
  • Support the CCA Finance team by providing direction, investigating issues, and recommending solutions that impact financial performance and reporting objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably within a large, complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of sales, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit support.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Finance, and external auditors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with large-scale financial systems or mainframe environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or CPA-eligible.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or large system conversions.
  • Prior experience in a controllership or shared services environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory platforms, or intercompany accounting.
  • Experience working with global or intercompany transactions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
