At Macmillan Learning, we're committed to driving innovation that transforms education. We seek team members who thrive on pushing boundaries, envisioning future possibilities, and building solutions that make a lasting impact. Whether you're a Pioneer shaping bold new ideas, a Builder turning possibilities into reality, or a Stabilizer optimizing for success, you'll play a vital role in advancing our mission. If you're excited by the prospect of testing new technologies, implementing transformative strategies, and thriving in a fast-paced, innovative environment, we’d love to hear from you!

The Senior (or Executive) Marketing Manager, Field Marketing for Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics is the bridge between Product, Sales and Marketing and is responsible for designing and leading the strategies that connect the three functions. This role ensures that sales teams are not only equipped with the right tools and training, but also supported by a clear, coordinated marketing strategy that drives pipeline growth and lead conversion. Unlike sales specialists who focus on direct selling, Field Marketing Managers take a strategic view—developing frameworks for handoffs, shaping go-to-market approaches, and ensuring consistent, scalable coordination across teams.

By engaging directly with the market through virtual and in-person events, intentionally-selected on-campus interactions, and market intelligence gathering activities, the Field Marketing Manager brings back insights that influence product development, messaging, campaign activities, and directs sales enablement strategies. This person plays a critical role in elevating marketing’s impact on revenue by aligning the customer experience across mid and bottom of funnel touchpoints, anticipating market shifts, and creating innovative pathways to adoption and retention. This is a highly visible role that turns frontline awareness into strategic advantage, ensuring Macmillan Learning’s marketing and sales teams operate as one powerful, coordinated force. This role does not have managerial responsibilities.

We know that talented candidates sometimes hesitate to apply when they don't meet every single qualification listed. We're looking for people who are passionate about our mission and can bring valuable perspectives to our work. Different experiences, skills, and approaches all have the potential to strengthen what we do. If this opportunity interests you, we'd love to hear how your unique background and abilities could contribute to our team's success. We're committed to building a workplace where everyone can do their best work and where diverse viewpoints are valued. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply - we're excited to learn about the different ways you might add value to our organization.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
