Turning Space into a Transportation Layer for Earth

Who We Are:

Inversion builds advanced reentry systems to deliver next-generation capabilities from space.

Our mission is to make Earth radically more accessible by turning Low-Earth Orbit into an on-demand logistics domain. We see space not as a destination, but as a platform — one that unlocks unprecedented speed and global reach.

Our spacecraft are designed to deliver payloads anywhere on Earth in under an hour, operating through extreme reentry conditions and landing with high precision. These systems open the door to new ways of testing, delivering, and operating at hypersonic speeds.

Inherently dual-use, our technology is built to meet urgent national security needs while laying the groundwork for future commercial applications. Backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, and working with partners such as the U.S. Space Force and NASA, Inversion is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in space-based defense and logistics.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive Senior Executive Assistant to support our executive leadership team. This role goes far beyond calendar management—you will act as a strategic partner, operator, and force multiplier for leadership, helping drive efficiency, organization, and execution across the company. This role reports directly to the Inversion CTO.

You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, anticipate needs before they arise, and bring structure to chaos. You are equally comfortable coordinating board meetings, managing sensitive information, and jumping in to solve operational problems on the fly.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support & Operations

  • Manage complex, ever-changing calendars
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, often with short turnaround times
  • Prepare executives for meetings with agendas, briefing materials, and follow-ups
  • Track and help drive completion of key initiatives and action items

Strategic Partnership

  • Act as a gatekeeper and thought partner to executives, prioritizing time and focus
  • Anticipate needs and proactively solve problems before they surface
  • Help streamline workflows, communication, and decision-making processes
  • Support cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, and leadership

Board & Investor Relations

  • Coordinate board meetings, investor updates, and executive offsites
  • Prepare high-quality materials, presentations, and reports
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

Company & Team Support

  • Plan and execute internal events, leadership offsites, and team meetings
  • Assist with onboarding senior hires and executive-level recruiting coordination
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador—setting a high bar for professionalism and execution

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting C-level executives (preferably in a startup or high-growth environment)
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, hardware, or deep tech environments
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities with speed and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of discretion
  • Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of responsibilities

What Sets You Apart

  • You think like an operator, not just an assistant
  • You bring structure to ambiguity and calm to chaos
  • You anticipate needs before executives articulate them
  • You are trusted with the most sensitive information
  • You have a bias for action and thrive under pressure

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
