Who We Are

Serval is the AI platform for IT teams — replacing legacy systems like ServiceNow with automation that frees people to focus on meaningful work. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by innovative companies such as Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, Mercor, Langchain, and Verkada to automate more than 50% of their IT tickets.

Serval "automates the automation," using a natural language-to-code workflow builder and AI agents that discover and deliver automations for tedious IT workflows. What started as IT automation has expanded into a horizontal automation engine adopted by HR, Finance, Legal, Security, and Engineering teams.

Our mission is to free IT departments from the #helpdesk channel by creating the simplest way to automate employee onboarding/offboarding, software access management, and the long tail of employee requests. Long term, our vision is to develop a universal workflow automation and enterprise service management platform for all business functions.

We're backed by industry-leading investors, including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, and others, and founded by product and engineering leaders from Verkada.

Role Overview

As Serval's Senior Events Marketing Manager, you will be the architect and conductor of our most critical market-facing moments. This role goes beyond traditional event planning—you'll be responsible for creating transformative experiences that establish Serval as a category leader in AI-powered IT automation. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to create environments where trust is built, pipeline accelerates, and category leadership becomes undeniable.

You're energized under pressure, decisive in chaos, allergic to mediocrity, and right more often than not. You're a strong operator with taste—you sweat details and see the big picture. You're comfortable pushing back on "safe" ideas in favor of bold, thoughtful ones.

Who You Are:
  • Energized under pressure, decisive in chaos, allergic to mediocrity, and right more often than not.

  • Strong operator with taste. You sweat details and see the big picture.

  • Comfortable pushing back on “safe” ideas in favor of bold, thoughtful ones.

What You’ll Do
  • Own end-to-end strategy and execution for Serval's most impactful brand moments—owned summits, flagship conferences, and strategic third-party activations.

  • Design unique experiences that shape brand perception, create momentum at the top of the funnel, and drive real revenue growth.

  • Obsess over your craft: content flow, pacing, stage presence, and how each moment compounds into the next.

  • Orchestrate across Executive, Product, Sales, and Customer teams to turn strategy and stories into experiences the market remembers.

  • Partner closely with Field Marketing to activate, scale, and extend these moments into regional and account-level programs.

  • Ensure strong downstream impact through intentional follow-through with marketing, sales, and customer teams.

  • Track and analyze key metrics to optimize future events.

  • Establish playbooks, systems, and standards that enable consistent, high-quality execution.

What You’ll Need
  • 6+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably within high-growth startups, B2B SaaS, or enterprise sales.

  • Proven owner of large-scale B2B events and conferences with executive audiences (including end-to-end strategy, logistics, vendor management, and onsite orchestration).

  • Track record of driving measurable pipeline and revenue impact through events.

  • Ability to travel - estimated travel requirement ~ 25%.

  • Proficiency with event management platforms (Splash, Cvent, or similar), CRM systems (Salesforce), and marketing automation tools.

  • Experience with virtual and hybrid event strategies.

Nice to Have
  • Previous experience marketing to IT, Engineering, or Security leaders

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.

  • Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.

  • Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
