Vast is looking for a Senior Manager of Events reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, who will assist with the planning, organization, and execution of events that reflect and promote Vast’s mission. This role will focus on event logistics and construction management (tradeshow booths), booking travel, project management, and ensuring smooth execution through real-time organization and problem solving.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of all event-based marketing initiatives, including three major industry trade shows annually and a series of bespoke on-site and off-site events
  • Boots on the ground, on-site event execution, serving as a point of contact during live events to manage real-time logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure every aspect runs smoothly, from last-minute build adjustments to managing staff and vendor coordination under pressure
  • Act as project manager for each event, owning timelines, budgets, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination, including travel logistics, to ensure seamless execution
  • Directly manage and liaise with external tradespeople including exhibit builders, carpenters, A/V teams, lighting designers, and other specialists to ensure flawless booth construction and activation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, business development, facilities, and executive leadership to align event strategies and needs
  • Own and maintain detailed documentation including production schedules, layouts, booth designs, and post-event debriefs
  • Assist with vendor selection and management, including RFPs, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements related to on-site construction and event operations
  • Support creative and brand alignment, ensuring all event assets, experiences, and messaging reflect brand standards and storytelling objectives
  • Measure and report on event performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve future programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in event management, with a focus on trade shows, corporate events, and experiential activations
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects with multiple stakeholders, vendors, and moving parts
  • Strong understanding of event production and fabrication processes, including working directly with builders, A/V teams, and technical crews
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with proficiencies in spreadsheets and project management tools
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and timelines with a track record of delivering high-quality events on time and within scope
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and represent the company professionally on-site

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in event management, marketing, construction, or logistics
  • Familiarity with aerospace, tech, or startup environments
  • Proficiency in AirTable (or project management equivalent, Google Works Suite (Slides, Docs, Sheets), and construction software like CAD
  • Experience working on large-scale or high-profile events
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to fast-paced environments
  • Passion for Vast’s mission and enthusiasm for contributing to space exploration

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support event execution
  • Ability to work onsite at Vast’s Long Beach location to collaborate closely with the team

Salary Range: California

$105,000$135,000 USD

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
