You will manage vendor and venue partnerships, ensuring all stakeholders work together to provide seamless event experiences. Additionally, you will conduct leadership reviews and post-event debriefs to refine our strategy based on lessons learned, fostering strong relationships with partners. You may also take on workstream ownership across the portfolio, including content operations, event technology, and strategy development.
We're looking for a great communicator who can understand complex issues, looks forward to identify and preempt challenges, solve problems, and supports your peers across the execution of the entire Global Events portfolio.
Core Responsibilities

  • Clearly communicate objectives, project status and updates to team members and stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Directly manage and inspire both internal and external cross functional teams who support and contribute to our customer-facing event programs
  • Understand customer needs and how both in-person and digital events can and should deliver against those needs to achieve business objectives, for internal and external audiences
  • Leverage a data-driven approach using data to build insights and strategies, and are an expert in event measurement and ROI tracking
  • Design event experiences that engage, educate, and entertain attendees while reflecting the company's values
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the attendee experience and incorporate insights into future events
  • Address any issues or concerns that arise during events, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
  • Have demonstrated contract negotiation skills and experience
  • Design and build key operational structures and processes to ensure the team works efficiently and effectively together, ensuring flexibility when needed, while managing cross-functional teams globally to committed deadlines
  • Continually align and evolve event program strategies to the needs of the business, ensuring processes, guidelines and standards are maintained throughout
  • Explore and manage best in class agency partners that help Atlassian create and pioneer best in class experiences
  • Manage complex event budgets including monetization and funding models including revenue modeling, contract risk mitigations, attrition and forecasting, plus reconcile invoices in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and timely closeout of programs
  • Deliver with superb communication skills in helping build and tell the ROI story of events
  • A problem solver who is naturally curious, and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Expected results:
  • Flawless execution - continual understanding of attendees' key priorities and map back to those metrics
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships and consistently play as a team

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
