The Event Manager role is an integral part of the marketing team who is responsible for planning and executing third-party field events, tradeshows and conferences to increase brand awareness and drive leads for the US and UK sales teams.
Your daily responsibility as an event and programming expert will include working closely with product, field sales, and product marketing managers to identify goals, messaging, content, and promotion strategy; manage budgets, and coordinate all logistics and content. You will utilize exceptional project management skills to manage pre-event reviews, communication and post-event follow-up to optimize lead generation opportunities and determine event ROI; ensuring all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-quality event.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of running successful events and have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated experience in using events as activity to support lead generation, brand awareness, custeomer engagement and working with SDR or sales resources for event follow-up.
Responsibilities include:
  • Plan, design and produce events while managing all project delivery elements within timeline planning. This includes, but is not limited to, budgets, facilities management, participation footprints, décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, invitees, schedules, A/V equipment, promotional materials, product demonstrations and programming messaging and content.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, sales and executive leadership team to shape event experience, coordinate scheduling, content programming and orchestrate communications
  • Execute promotional communication strategies for visibility within markets and to increase traffic at events
  • Conduct event market research, gather information and provide event recommendations
  • Manage and track event budgets and report spending against plan each quarter as aligned with event allocation.
  • Complete post-event reports regarding outcomes and lead generation to stakeholders and marketing leadership
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal and health and safety obligations
  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities
  • Cooperate cross functionally with marketing and PR to promote and publicize events
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems before and during event day
  • Negotiate vendor contracts with legal support

What you'll need:
  • With exposure to multiple teams, this is a highly-matrixed role. Candidates need to have operational expertise in events and tradeshows, as well as be strategic thinkers, hands on, highly organized, detail oriented, and have experience in tradeshows and using events as lead generation.
  • Excel at cross-group collaboration, problem solving and have a bias for action
  • Very strong project management skills, creative thinking and analytical ability
  • Proven success in executing multiple events and using both internal and external resources to accomplish this.
  • Motivated self-starter who thrives on working in complex and challenging environments of a rapidly evolving business
  • Willing to travel to attend events, or to spot-check vendor execution, and ensure processed are being adhered to onsite at tradeshows.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication
  • Understanding and ownership of event content and programming

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of lead generation process
  • Previous experience managing an event budget
  • Familiarity with SFDC and Hubspot
  • Experience with large-scale productions
