The Opportunity

The Cybersecurity Group at SandboxAQ is building AQtive Guard, our groundbreaking solution for modern non-human identity and cryptography management. This product is already launching globally with major organizations, including top-tier financial institutions and government agencies. You will lead the SDK and Integrations team, a specialized unit focused on building seamless connectivity between our platform and various third-party enterprise security tools.

The Cybersecurity Group is looking for a Engineering Manager to join our team. This role is central to our efforts to: functionalize AQtive Guard by advancing security integrations and supporting seamless connectivity with enterprise security platforms.

This person will lead the technical strategy for developer-facing SDKs, own the end-to-end developer experience, and remain hands-on with architecture decisions while managing and growing the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the SDK and Integrations team while remaining hands-on with code reviews, architecture decisions, and critical feature development.

  • Design and build production-grade SDKs and APIs that enable seamless integration between our platform and third-party enterprise tools.

  • Own the developer experience end-to-end, including API design, documentation, and the creation of deployment guides.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with enterprise customers, partners, developer relations, and customer success teams to prioritize the SDK roadmap and gather feedback.

  • Establish engineering best practices for SDK testing, versioning strategies, backward compatibility, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering roles with a proven track record of remaining technically hands-on while leading teams.

  • Multi-language proficiency in shipping production services from scratch using languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, Rust, or Python.

  • Experience building SDKs or enterprise integration solutions across multiple programming languages.

  • Technical leadership skills with the ability to make architectural decisions while managing career development and mentoring team members.

  • Expertise in enterprise security, including authentication flows (OAuth, SAML), API security, and compliance requirements.

Highly Desired Skills & Experience
  • Streaming Domain Knowledge: Experience with or a quick grasp of streaming concepts such as codecs, protocols, and latency optimization.

  • Developer Advocacy: Experience balancing technical excellence with a "developer advocate" mindset to meet business objectives and timelines.

  • Cross-language depth: Specific experience in supporting SDKs across diverse environments (Go, Rust, Python) on top of a core Java/Kotlin foundation.
