As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Trust org, you'll be a technical leader and people manager, responsible for guiding your team to technical decisions for production services, helping prioritize and organize the team's work, manage projects and programs within and across departments, and providing career growth and mentorship opportunities to your team.

Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $206,100 - $269,075
Zone B: $186,300 - $243,225
Zone C: $171,900 - $224,425
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you'll do
- Be a people manager for your engineers (10-15 people).
- Own the delivery of critical projects, multiple streams of work at once in the Security and Trust domains.
- You have an interest in working with colleagues to understand our products and improve existing security infrastructure.
- Lead your team through incidents and high operational load, navigate ambiguity and make trade-offs, hard decisions.
Responsibilities
- Team management: Hire, build, and retain an open, trusting, operationally mature culture and team. Lead and mentor a team of high-performing technical professionals, fostering a culture of security and collaboration.
- Collaboration and communication: Foster a security-focused culture within the product development process, communicating updates, risks, and strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Leadership development: Mentor and develop security practitioners, contributing to large-scale security projects and ensuring successful implementation.
- Operational excellence: Define appropriate operational and quality metrics and ensure they are achieved and maintained. You build it, you run it.
- Domain oversight: Implement and enforce security standards, policies, and procedures for product development, collaborating on risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Basic qualifications
- A track record of delivering projects on time, in scope, and within quality goals in an Agile/Lean environment.
- 5+ years of software, infrastructure, or security engineering experience.
- 8+ years managing and growing engineers and/or managers.
- Experience providing actionable feedback and coaching engineers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience building SaaS software with a focus on operational excellence.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with scalable, high-performance systems that are highly available.
- A strong understanding of how to use metrics to guide decisions.
- Experience reducing toil, work with teams with high operational load.
- Familiarity with security systems and trust & safety practices, processes.
- Bonus if you have led security engineering teams before.
It's great, but not required, if you have
- Cloud engineering/security experience.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscape, and best practices.
