About us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

What you’ll be doing:

As Senior Engineering Manager for the SEO & Provider Showcase teams, you will lead two full-stack web squads whose charter is to:

  1. SEO / Growth Team – Drive discoverability and acquisition through world-class technical SEO, rapid experimentation, and data-driven growth loops.
  2. Provider Showcase Team – Build and optimize the tooling that powers provider profile pages and marketplace listings, unlocking conversion and retention for both therapists and clients.

Your remit spans roadmap ownership, architectural direction, people leadership, and cross-functional alignment. You’ll report to the VP of Engineering and work closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Data to deliver measurable business impact.

Core responsibilities:
  • Technical leadership
    • Set the architectural vision for our growth web surfaces—high-traffic landing pages, provider profiles, and internal tooling—ensuring scalability, performance, accessibility, and security.
    • Champion SEO best practices (Core Web Vitals, structured data, crawl budget, internationalization, etc.) and modern growth engineering techniques (A/B testing platforms, feature flags, experimentation pipelines).
  • Team management
    • Hire, mentor, and inspire a high-performing group of full-stack engineers (React/Next.js, Python, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, etc.).
    • Foster a culture of learning, psychological safety, and inclusive collaboration.
  • Growth & experimentation
    • Partner with Growth and Data Science to design, analyze, and ship experiments that accelerate user acquisition, activation, and retention.
    • Translate insights into product increments and technical improvements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Align with Product, Design, and Business Operations on strategy, priorities, and OKRs.
    • Communicate trade-offs clearly to executive stakeholders, balancing near-term wins with long-term platform health.
  • Strategic planning
    • Own a 12- to 24-month roadmap that connects company-level goals to actionable engineering milestones.
    • Advocate for the engineering voice in growth, SEO, and marketplace initiatives.
You’ll be a great fit if you…
  • Bring 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with 5+ years leading teams—including at least two years focused on growth, SEO, or performance marketing surfaces.
  • Have managed or worked closely with full-stack web engineers delivering React/Next.js (or similar) front-ends and Node/Go/Python (or similar) back-ends.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of shipping high-impact growth or SEO projects (technical SEO refactors, Core Web Vitals lifts, high-scale landing pages, experimentation frameworks, etc.).
  • Can translate ambiguous growth hypotheses into measurable engineering work.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment and excel at conflict resolution, coaching, and stakeholder management.
  • Communicate crisply in written and spoken form with distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

If you don’t meet every single requirement but you’re excited about the role, we encourage you to apply—no one checks every box.

The salary range for this role is $218,000 – $285,000 USD.

Please note, Grow Therapy adjusts base salary based on geographic location, leveling, and experience, so your compensation could land anywhere within the posted range.

*NOTE: This role requires someone who is based in the either the New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle metropolitan area.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
