Reporting to the Director of Architecture, you will own the critical intersection of platform reliability, cost-efficiency, and engineering velocity. Your work will ensure that our infrastructure remains a robust, scalable, and fiscally responsible foundation, maintaining the highest levels of trust with our partners. You will work as a high-impact leader, driving the continuous evolution of our systems while mentoring the next generation of engineering talent.
Requirements
The ideal candidate thrives in high-stakes environments and possesses a deep "builder" mindset combined with exceptional leadership skills.
- Modern DevOps: A deep understanding of modern DevOps principles. You champion automation, "shifting left" on reliability, and building seamless CI/CD pipelines that empower developers to deploy with confidence.
- Documentation Excellence: A relentless advocate for continuous documentation. You believe that a feature isn't "done" until it is documented. You will lead the Platform Team to be the company's gold standard for technical clarity, maintaining impeccable playbooks, architecture diagrams, and decision logs.
- Platform Cost Optimization: Proven experience in cloud cost optimization and governance. You have successfully implemented strategies to maximize infrastructure ROI without impacting platform performance.
- People Development: You are extremely proficient at people development. You have a demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, build career progression frameworks, and foster a high-accountability culture.
- Global Coordination: Extensive experience leading teams across disparate time zones. You are proficient at coordinating work asynchronously and managing 24/7 operations to ensure global platform reliability.
- Kubernetes Understanding: A solid working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration. You are comfortable guiding the team through architectural discussions, rightsizing, and scaling challenges.
- Escalation & Security: Proficiency in escalation best practices and a working knowledge of modern security practices. You ensure the platform is hardened against threats and that incident responses are handled with transparency and speed.
- Process Improvement: A "continuous improvement" mindset focused on operational efficiency. You identify bottlenecks and implement frameworks to increase delivery velocity and system stability.
- Fiscal & Operational Excellence: Transform our infrastructure into a high-performance, cost-optimized platform. You will align cloud spend with business growth, ensuring ClassWallet maintains a lean and scalable technical footprint.
- The Gold Standard of Knowledge: Establish the Platform Team as the benchmark for documentation across the company. By making technical knowledge discoverable and current, you will reduce tribal knowledge and empower the entire engineering organization to move faster.
- Global Talent Leadership: Build and retain a world-class, globally distributed team. Your success will be measured by the professional growth of your reports and the team's ability to execute complex projects across time zones with seamless hand-offs.
