Job Description:
The Senior Engineer I-Quality will support, maintain, and continually improve an AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System for high‑reliability electromechanical, aerospace, and defense products. The Senior Engineer I-Quality will also serve as a key quality focal point across manufacturing, engineering, customers, and auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance compliance to AS9100 and ISO9001 quality system requirements.
Conduct internal process audits, document findings, and verify corrective actions.
Utilize structured problem‑solving and continuous improvement tools:
5‑Why, Ishikawa (Fishbone) diagrams, containment & verification methods
Lead or support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) including 8D investigations.
Review, disposition, and document nonconforming product with process owners.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on qualification, verification, and validation of new and modified designs.
Generate and present quality metrics, trend analysis, and performance data to management.
Support and sustain qualifications and compliance to related MIL standards (MIL‑PRF‑83536 / MIL‑STD‑790 / MIL‑PRF‑6106) and aerospace workmanship and handling standards (J‑STD‑001ES/ ANSI/ESD S20.20)
Ensure robust configuration control, documentation accuracy, inspection discipline, and traceability across the product lifecycle.
Provide training and guidance to production and engineering teams on quality standards, inspection criteria, and process controls.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must have a BS in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, related engineering discipline combined with relevant industry experience, or equivalent technical degree
5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or high‑reliability electromechanical products.
Experience with AS9100 QMS, internal auditing, problem solving, and CAPA.
Familiar with high‑reliability manufacturing, inspection, and test environments.
Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and cross‑functional coordination capability.
Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and aerospace quality system fundamentals.
Ability to perform internal audits and support external audits.
Skilled in continuous improvement, risk‑based thinking, and preventive quality tools.
Proficiency with FMEA, SPC, control plans, sampling, measurement methods, and process capability.
Competence comparable to an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) in Quality engineering principles, statistics, reliability concepts, root‑cause analysis, and documentation rigor.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $205,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
