THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Electronics Quality Technician III reports to the Quality Supervisor on the Operations - Quality Control team. The successful individual in this role will support StreamCaster™ MANET product development and manufacturing. This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as lead technical authority on complex non-conformances, high-priority RMAs, and systemic product quality issues.
Execute in-depth root cause investigations and support the implementation of long-term corrective actions in partnership with Engineering and Quality Engineering.
Develop and refine quality inspection protocols, standard work instructions, and rework procedures.
Lead advanced diagnostics of electronics failures to the component or circuit level, with formal documentation of findings.
Perform precision-level rework of high-complexity boards, including BGA and dense RF assemblies, under IPC-7711/7721 standards.
Coordinate containment, disposition, and rework actions for high-risk or repeat quality issues.
Interface with suppliers or customers during audits, technical reviews, and product quality escalations.
Provide hands-on mentorship and peer review support to all levels of Quality and RMA technicians.
Participate in process validation, fixture qualification, and design-for-inspection initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in an electronics work environment. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and a combination of experience will also be considered.
Master-level soldering and rework ability across SMT, fine-pitch, through-hole, and BGA components.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and Gerber files.
Deep understanding of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
Strong documentation skills, including failure reports and quality alerts.
Experience with IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721 standards.
Advanced knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) status in soldering or inspection standards.
Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical).
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other formal QMS frameworks.
Direct experience supporting MRB activities and quality system audits.
Exposure to Six Sigma or lean manufacturing tools is a plus.
Proficiency with Linux-based systems and radio frequency test automation is a bonus.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
Walking/Moving in the labs.
COMPENSATION: $41.80 - $44.00 / hourly USD
The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
