Integration meets Innovation

At Celigo, we believe integration should empower — not exhaust — innovation. As a modern Integration and Automation Platform (iPaaS), we’re on a mission to simplify how companies integrate, automate, and optimize processes. Powered by game-changing technology like runtime AI and prebuilt, mission-critical integrations, Celigo is redefining how businesses connect their world.

Celigo powers thousands of ecommerce businesses, and we are hiring a Senior Ecommerce Director to own and lead this segment across the entire organization. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role for an operator who has lived the ecommerce grind from the inside.

This is not a consulting or advisory role. We are looking for someone who drives action toward business outcomes, breaks through obstacles, and builds momentum. You will own the ecommerce segment end-to-end: shaping strategy, guiding product, enabling sales, leading marketing initiatives, and expanding our customer base, all without relying on formal authority. You will represent Celigo externally as a credible industry voice and internally as the champion for the ecommerce segment.

What would you do if hired?

Own the Segment

  • Act as the internal CEO of Celigo's eCommerce vertical, accountable for the segment's growth, adoption, and customer outcomes.
  • Report directly to the CSO and represent the ecommerce business in executive-level reviews with full ownership of the segment's metrics and KPIs.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to mobilize the organization around a clear ecommerce agenda.

Drive Commercial Outcomes

  • Oversee and actively support ecommerce sales cycles, partnering with Account Executives to engage buyers at the operational and executive level.
  • Lead customer expansion initiatives, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing ecommerce customer base.
  • Own segment-level marketing campaigns from strategy through execution, ensuring messaging resonates with ecommerce operators and drives pipeline.

Shape Strategy and Product Direction

  • Develop and champion a clear, opinionated point of view on where ecommerce is heading and what Celigo's position in the market should be.
  • Translate deep operator experience into actionable product requirements. Partner with Product to prioritize the roadmap features that matter most to eCommerce buyers.
  • Identify emerging trends, competitive shifts, and whitespace opportunities, and bring concrete recommendations to leadership.

Serve as Subject Matter Expert

  • Act as the primary SME for all things ecommerce: through Celigo’s SE team, guide prospects through technical and operational evaluations, support complex sales cycles, and advise customers on integration architecture.
  • Partner with Marketing on content strategy, ensuring messaging, tone, and positioning reflect real operator priorities rather than generic industry language.
  • Conceptualize and collaborate on demos and use-case narratives that land with ecommerce operators and their IT teams.

Evangelize and Build Brand

  • Represent Celigo at major ecommerce industry events, conferences, and trade shows. Deliver keynotes, participate in panels, and produce thought leadership content.
  • Leverage your existing industry brand and network to build Celigo's credibility and visibility in the ecommerce ecosystem.
Who are we looking for?

Operator Experience (Required)

  • At least 10 years of hands-on ecommerce industry experience, with a strong preference for time spent on the operator side, whether at a brand, retailer, marketplace, or ecommerce platform.
  • A demonstrable operator mindset: you drive toward outcomes, build momentum in ambiguous environments, and find creative paths around obstacles. You have owned budgets, hit metrics, and been accountable for results.
  • We need someone who has been in the trenches and knows what it takes to execute.

eCommerce Stack Knowledge

  • Deep, hands-on familiarity with the ecommerce technology landscape: storefronts (Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce), ERPs, OMS, WMS, 3PLs, marketplaces, and data/analytics tools.
  • Ability to hold a credible technical conversation with an ecommerce architect or CTO, and translate that into business terms for a CMO or CFO.
  • Experience with integration and automation challenges in ecommerce operations is a significant plus.

Leadership Without Authority

  • Proven ability to rally cross-functional teams around an agenda and drive execution without formal reporting lines. You are persuasive, organized, and relentless, but kind, professional, and an excellent coalition builder.
  • Comfort operating in a matrixed environment where influence and credibility are your primary tools.
  • Strong point of view on the ecommerce market that you can articulate compellingly and defend with data.

Metrics Orientation

  • Fluency with business metrics and KPIs relevant to ecommerce operations and SaaS segment performance alike.
  • Experience owning or co-owning pipeline, revenue targets, or customer health metrics in a prior role.

Public Presence and Communication

  • Demonstrated experience presenting to executive audiences, whether at customer meetings, industry conferences, or internal leadership reviews.
  • An existing industry brand or reputation in the ecommerce space is strongly preferred. We want someone the community already recognizes.
  • Ability to produce and contribute to written content, including white papers, blog posts, and social media, in an authentic operator voice.
  • A clear, compelling, and concise style of communication.

Celigo reasonably expects to pay a base salary between $225,000 and $250,000 per year for this position. Actual starting base pay will be determined by skills, experience, geographic location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, benefits, or other perks as outlined in any formal employment offer made.

Celigo is proud to be

  • A 2025 Gartner Customers’ Choice for iPaaS. The only vendor to receive this award.
  • Celigo is a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for iPaaS for the second consecutive year
  • Celigo is ranked #1 iPaaS on G2 for multiple quarters and named a Leader in both B2B/EDI and API Management.
  • Celigo is a leading intelligent automation platform that puts the power of automation in the hands of every team, unifying workflows from the predictable to the fully agentic in a single platform.

Here you'll experience

  • Remote-first culture, built on trust, collaboration, and transparency
  • A high-growth, inclusive work environment where innovation thrives and ideas are implemented
  • Lightspeed learning opportunities to keep you at the leading edge of your field
  • Exceptional coworkers who challenge and inspire you daily
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including:
    • Three weeks of vacation (starting year one)
    • Wellness days and holidays to recharge
    • Parental leave and a generous benefits package
    • Monthly tech stipend
    • Recognition and career development opportunities

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
