Lead strategic planning and operational execution in a high-growth technology environment. Collaborate with executives to drive accountability and growth initiatives.
As Senior Director of Strategic Planning at ActiveCampaign, you will be responsible for shaping strategic direction, cross-functional business planning, and strategic initiative operationalization. Reporting to the COO, you’ll work closely with the executive team to translate ambition into action by aligning priorities across teams, driving accountability, and enabling scalable growth.
This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the center of GTM, Product, Technology, and Finance. You will lead a high-impact team focused on strategic planning, cross-functional enablement, and performance monitoring. You’ll be a trusted partner to executives as we define “what’s next,” ensure clarity on how we get there, and track progress along the way.
This role is ideal for a strategic operator with a hands-on mindset, deep experience in subscription-based technology businesses, and a strong track record of leading cross-functional execution in dynamic, high-growth environments.
What your day could consist of:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Translate the company vision into clearly defined strategic objectives, aligned across all functions.
- Surface and size high-impact growth opportunities through internal analysis, market trends, and customer research.
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate investment cases, allocate resources, and frame “big bet” initiatives.
- Ensure tight alignment of strategic priorities across GTM, Product, Technology, and Finance.
- Operational Excellence:
- Support the company’s operating rhythm, including executive business reviews, initiative tracking, and resource planning.
- Drive strategic initiatives that cut across teams, serving as the connective tissue between functions.
- Enable a robust performance measurement framework to manage key operational metrics.
- Partner with Analytics to develop dashboards and decision-support tools that inform executive discussions and track strategic progress.
- Cross-Functional Enablement & Execution:
- Act as a unifying force across departments — aligning goals, metrics, and priorities to enable execution at scale.
- Build trusted relationships across teams, helping bridge perspectives and drive clarity.
- Champion a culture of accountability, data-driven decisions, and operational rigor.
- Enable fact-based decision making across the business by strengthening strategic insights and scaling business analytics.
What is needed:
- 10+ years of experience in Strategy, Finance, Revenue Operations, or Business Planning, with a blend of advisory and operating roles.
- Proven leadership in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments; SaaS experience strongly preferred.
- MBA required; top-tier consulting background (e.g., BCG, Bain, McKinsey) highly desirable.
- Deep expertise in strategic planning, operating models, and financial frameworks for technology businesses.
- Strong influencing skills and executive presence; ability to drive alignment across C-level stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of subscription economics (e.g., LTV/CAC, retention drivers, customer segmentation).
