As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Architecture & Engineering - API Marketplace team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
• Leads the development of innovative API products tailored for high-value customers, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. • Drives end-to-end project development for new API initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team. • Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise • Proven experience in designing and implementing REST and GraphQL APIs, with a strong understanding of best practices and standards. • In-depth experience with one or more API Gateways, demonstrating the ability to manage and optimize API traffic and security. • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with React UI development, showcasing the ability to build and maintain scalable and efficient user interfaces. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across organizational boundaries, fostering strong partnerships and driving alignment on strategic initiatives. • Strong strategic thinking and team leadership skills, with a track record of guiding teams to achieve complex objectives and deliver impactful solutions. • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists • Practical cloud native experience • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
