Job Description & Responsibilities
As a Senior Director of Publisher Sales at Freestar, you’ll leverage your industry contacts to establish new relationships with publishers. You will act as a Freestar evangelist, creating new opportunities for Freestar’s product offerings to maximize revenue for our clients. This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Growth & Publisher Development. Additionally, you will:
- Expand the Freestar publisher family by strategically prospecting and closing high-impact accounts.
- Leverage CRM data and market intelligence to forecast long-term growth and identify untapped publisher verticals or new revenue opportunities.
- Demonstrate extensive product expertise by acting as a strategic feedback loop, translating market needs into actionable insights for the Product team.
- Lead the internal communication and quarterback the end-to-end execution of complex, non-standard deals that require custom technical configurations or sophisticated strategic alignment.
- Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships through intentional face-to-face, email, and phone communication with industry decision-makers.
- Partner with senior leadership to refine sales methodologies and revenue strategies based on real-time competitive analysis and market shifts.
- Communicate high-level goals and performance results to key stakeholders to ensure organizational alignment on growth initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to junior sales talent, sharing expertise to help them navigate complex negotiations and refine their execution throughout the sales cycle.
Qualifications:
- A consistent track record in Publisher Sales
- 7+ years experience & strong understanding within the AdTech industry
- An extensive contact list of publishers
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- A customer-focused attitude with relationship management skills
- The mindset of an Hunter; you drive change and you’re self-motivated
- Creative problem solving capabilities
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
We’d also like to see:
- Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation skills
- Comfort interacting across multiple teams and management levels within the organization
- Previous background in the media landscape (linear, digital, or social) is a plus
