Own the product strategy, roadmap, team, customer relationships, and P&L for Teamworks’ Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence portfolio. Lead AI strategy across sports markets, integrate acquired products, align engineering, design, data science, marketing, and sales, and convert proprietary sports data into AI-powered workflows. Represent the business with teams, leagues, and partners while driving multi-market growth and product execution.

At Teamworks, we build the operating system for elite sports organizations, from D1 college football programs to professional franchises across the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. Our Coaching and Personnel products sit at the heart of how teams identify, develop, and manage talent, and right now we're at an inflection point. Several acquisitions have put us in position to build something no one else in this market can: a unified, AI-first platform that connects coaching workflows, talent acquisition, and on-field performance analytics into a single operating layer for elite sports.

We're hiring a Senior Director of Product to own this category end to end. This person will lead a team of PMs and product leaders across multiple markets, own the roadmap for our Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence products, and be the face of this business unit with customers, partners, and leagues.

The Role
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap across Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence, driving coherence across a portfolio built through both organic development and acquisition

  • Define a cohesive, opinionated AI strategy that travels across football, basketball, and other sport markets. Identify the shared workflows (opponent scouting, self-scouting, talent evaluation, recruiting operations, free agency and the transfer portal, contract and scholarship decisioning) where AI agents create the most leverage, and turn that thesis into a multi-quarter roadmap

  • Lead and develop a team of product managers and product leaders operating across multiple sports markets and geographies

  • Serve as the external face of this product line, representing Teamworks in customer meetings, league partnerships, enterprise RFPs, and industry forums

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, data science, product marketing, GTM, and finance to move fast and ship product that wins in market

  • Stay relentlessly close to customers: front offices, coaches, coordinators, GMs, scouting directors, and league operators

  • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and the PFF, SportLogiq, Zelus, and platform data teams to convert proprietary data into proprietary agents built on proprietary models, making deliberate calls on which capabilities are platform-level versus product-level

  • Find the workflows that look the same in football and basketball front offices and the workflows where markets genuinely diverge, building a portfolio approach that maximizes shared platform leverage without forcing one sport's mental model onto another

  • Own revenue and P&L accountability for the category, partnering with GTM to win league-wide deals and expand into new sports and international markets

What I'm Looking ForWhat You Must Bring
  • A track record of shipping and iterating across a multi-product portfolio: not just owning one product, but driving strategy and execution across several simultaneously, with a clear point of view on where agentic AI experiences win and where traditional SaaS workflows still serve users better

  • Sports fluency: a deep understanding of how sports operate, enabling you to sit down with a GM, coach, or personnel director and credibly speak their language. This can come from many places: a genuine passion for sports that includes following the ins and outs of a given league, time spent in a front office, or experience competing as an athlete at a high level

  • Demonstrated experience leading PMs and product leaders through complex, multi-market environments (including through periods of organizational change like acquisitions or rapid growth), OR operating as a General Manager of a new business unit with full ownership of strategy, roadmap, GTM, and P&L outcomes

  • 8+ years in product management or software development within B2B SaaS, sports technology, vertical AI, or comparable industries

  • The communication and stakeholder management skills to operate credibly at the executive level, with customers and league partners, and with technical and GTM teams, all in the same week

Even Better If
  • You've built and sold product directly to professional sports teams and understand the buying dynamics at that level

  • You have subject matter expertise in football or basketball, whether from coaching, scouting, front office, analytics, or product work in those markets

  • You've shipped AI-native features (not just AI-adjacent, but workflows where the AI is the product), with direct experience working with proprietary data sets and the models built on top of them, including the tradeoffs between in-house ML, third-party foundation models, and hybrid approaches

  • You have experience working in recently acquired or integrating product portfolios, with a bias toward action and clarity in ambiguous environments

Why This Role

There is not a better seat in sports technology right now. Teamworks has the data, the acquisitions, and the league relationships to become the definitive AI platform for elite sports organizations, and this role sits at the center of that build. If you want to work directly with NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL front offices while shaping a product category that doesn't exist yet in its full form, this is it.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
