Position Summary

Kaseya is seeking a Senior Director, Paid Media to own the strategy, execution, and performance of the company's global paid media investment. This leader will manage a significant multi-channel budget spanning paid search, paid social, programmatic display, video, content syndication, and emerging channels — with full accountability for pipeline contribution, efficiency, and return on spend.

Reporting to the VP, Digital Marketing, the Senior Director will build much of this function from the ground up — designing the processes, playbooks, measurement frameworks, and channel strategies that will scale with the business, not just inheriting and managing them. This is a builder's role for a leader who likes to get their hands dirty: someone as comfortable in the ad platforms, the data, and the campaign builds as they are in the boardroom presenting results. The right candidate combines deep channel expertise with rigorous financial discipline, treats paid media as a P&L rather than a cost center, and leads their team from the front.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the global paid media strategy and budget across paid search (Google, Bing), paid social (LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube), programmatic display, video, content syndication, review sites, and emerging channels
  • Build the operational foundation of the paid media function — processes, playbooks, campaign workflows, QA standards, and reporting cadences — designing for scale rather than inheriting legacy structure
  • Stay hands-on in the work: in-platform strategy and optimization, campaign architecture, audience and bidding strategy, and budget pacing alongside the team
  • Set channel-level targets for pipeline, CAC, ROAS, and efficiency; forecast, allocate, and reallocate spend based on performance data
  • Build, lead, and develop a team of paid media managers and channel specialists; manage agency and vendor relationships where leveraged, including performance accountability and contract negotiation
  • Own the measurement and attribution framework for paid media in partnership with marketing operations and analytics — including incrementality testing, media mix modeling, and full-funnel reporting from impression to closed-won revenue
  • Partner with demand generation on integrated campaign strategy, ensuring paid media amplifies the right offers, segments, and buyer journeys
  • Collaborate with product marketing and brand teams to ensure ad creative, messaging, and landing experiences convert — and run a disciplined testing program across creative, audience, and bidding strategies
  • Drive continuous optimization of the paid funnel in partnership with web and conversion rate optimization teams
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, privacy and signal-loss shifts, and emerging paid channels; pilot new opportunities with clear success criteria
  • Present performance, forecasts, and investment recommendations to executive leadership on a regular cadence

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of digital marketing experience with deep specialization in paid media, including 5+ years leading paid media teams and owning eight-figure or high seven-figure annual budgets
  • Proven track record driving pipeline and revenue through paid channels in B2B software or technology, with fluency in the metrics that matter: CAC, ROAS, pipeline contribution, LTV, and payback
  • Expert-level command of the major paid platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta, programmatic DSPs) and the martech stack surrounding them
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including hands-on experience with attribution models, incrementality testing, and marketing analytics tools
  • A builder's track record: you've stood up or significantly rebuilt a paid media function, program, or process infrastructure — not just optimized one you inherited
  • Genuinely hands-on operator at the senior level — still fluent and current in-platform, willing to build campaigns, dig into the data, and prototype processes yourself before delegating them
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing in-house teams and managing agency relationships with clear accountability
  • Executive communication skills — able to translate channel performance into business narrative for C-level audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-velocity, high-volume B2B demand generation environments (SMB or mid-market motion with short sales cycles)
  • Familiarity with the IT management, security, or infrastructure software landscape, or experience marketing to IT buyers
  • Experience with media mix modeling and navigating privacy-driven measurement change (signal loss, cookie deprecation)
  • Experience at a company that scaled through acquisition, consolidating paid programs across multiple brands or business units
  • Familiarity with ABM platforms and paid ABM execution (6sense, Demandbase, RollWorks)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
