Your Role

The O Positiv Operations team plays a critical role in sourcing, developing, manufacturing, and delivering differentiated women’s wellness products to our customers. This team is accountable for scaling and improving our business operations to support our rapid growth. The team is highly strategic, data driven, and analytical and works in a highly cross-functional manner with our Finance, Commercial, Creative, Product and Marketing teams.

The Senior Director of Operations will lead essential projects across the O Positive supply chain, including manufacturing, freight / logistics, fulfillment, retail operations, and supply / demand planning. They will identify and solve a broad array of critical and complex problems and will be responsible for recruiting and developing our Strategic Operations function as we continue to scale. They will have 3 direct reports and oversee a team of 7. The role reports directly to the COO.

The ideal candidate will be data-driven and analytical, highly collaborative, skilled in developing business relationships, and have experience in operations. She/he/they should be highly detail-oriented, able to manage many projects and initiatives simultaneously and see and build the bigger picture for an exciting future. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead O Positiv’s most critical strategic operations projects across the supply chain – defining and scoping new projects, including retail and international expansion, leading analysis and execution, and presenting insights and results to the COO and Executive Team
  • Manage O Positiv’s three key operations functions - procurement, fulfillment and logistics, and supply planning
  • Continue to manage and build the Strategic Operations team at O Positiv – hiring and developing a high performing team to support our rapid growth
  • Lead strategic sourcing – identifying new suppliers, manufacturers, and packers to support new product launch goals and working with our existing suppliers to improve quality and reduce cost
  • Oversee manufacturer / packer / packaging operations in the supply chain with procurement team – managing day-to-day relationships and processing including ordering, quality, testing, and cost optimization
  • Support demand and supply planning with Supply Planner – working closely with Finance, Marketing and Commercial teams to optimize inventory planning and management
  • Partner with Commercial and Operations team to ensure retail launches and BAU operations are successful (e.g. in store marketing displays, inventory and PO planning, 3PL and EDI management, etc.)
  • Support freight / logistics / fulfillment management with Fulfillment Operations team – oversee relationship with our 3PL, managing operational performance, and lead analysis to identify and execute improvement opportunities
  • Partner with Product Development team on bringing new products to market by working with manufacturers 
  • Run ad hoc analyses and support project management of various key initiatives
  • Be highly proactive in monitoring and analysing performance to identify and resolve potential issues early
  • Be highly proactive in identifying opportunities to improve performance including cost, quality, and accuracy
  • Be a leader in our operations team and help develop the people and technology infrastructure required for a high performing Strategic Operations function in a consistently growing and evolving role

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience in a highly analytical role
    • 7+ years of experience in management consulting or a large CPG / Retailer or a startup with experience in operations (experience with manufacturers, or suppliers, or retailers is a bonus)
    • Startup / e-commerce / supplements experience or passion is a plus
  • Interpersonal:
    • Strong leadership & communication skills: listen, reflect, proactively learn, and thoughtfully mentor
    • Ability to work effectively with different groups of individuals – a team player
    • Ability to manage multiple moving pieces – hard working, organized, and results oriented individual
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills
    • Excitement for startups and building a company from the ground up

Hours and Compensation

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $180,000 - $210,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

  • Pay based on prior experience
  • Position will be based out of Santa Monica, Los Angeles - in person (Mon-Thurs in office/Friday remote)
