Who are we looking for?

This is your chance to own the future-focused side of finance at a high growth SaaS company that’s transforming a $10 trillion industry. As Sr. Director of FP&A, you won’t just build spreadsheets - you’ll shape strategy.

You’ll be the right hand to our VP of Finance, running global financial planning & scenario modeling, helping guide where we should invest next, and act as a thought partner to leaders across sales, operation and product. You’ll have real visibility across the Hilti ecosystems - 22 counties and growing - and help drive how Fieldwire evolves from a successful startup into a world class, scaled business unit.

This job is for someone who’s done it before. Maybe you’re a director at a larger Saas company or a seasoned strategy consultant who’s made the leap into corporate FP&A. We want someone who will keep us moving forward.

What you’ll be doing?

A day in the life of our Sr. Director of FP&A will find you:

  • Leading long-range financial planning and forecasting across Fieldwire’s global footprint
  • Partnering with Sales, Product, and Operations to align growth strategy with financial impact
  • Translating business decisions into numbers—and numbers into business decisions

The primary responsibilities for our next Sr. Director of FP&A will be to:

  • Evolve our global financial model and investment scenarios, including owning budgets
  • Deliver sharp, actionable storytelling to executive leaders and global stakeholders
  • Serve as a senior FP&A voice on the finance and operations team
  • Support M&A initiatives and post-merger integrations

Desired Skills & Experience:

At Fieldwire, we’re looking for our next Sr. Director of FP&A to have the following skills and experiences:

  • 5+ years in a director-level FP&A or similar strategic finance role
  • Strong background in B2B SaaS or consulting (experience in both is a major plus)
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, scenario modeling, and ROI-based decision making
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills—you know how to tell a financial story
  • Ability to build and lead planning cycles while developing your analysts
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented mindset—you’ve done the work and still love digging into the numbers

And if you have any of the following, we REALLY want you to apply today:

  • Experience with international operations
  • Experience in ConTech SaaS

Compensation

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $210,000 - $255,000

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary, you may be eligible for a corporate bonus which can range up to 20%.

Why Fieldwire

Where is the job located?

This is a hybrid role based in downtown San Francisco, California (steps from Embarcadero BART).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
