Our mission
We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare and our cloud-native AI powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality on a daily basis. You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.
Your mission
Reporting to the EVP, CFO, you will lead the accounting function, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting. You will be a vital bridge between our teams in Switzerland and Boston, helping to build strong relationships and support our global growth. As a key technical accounting expert, you will manage complex accounting issues, prepare for audits, and uphold the highest standards of financial integrity across our multinational operations.
The value you bring:
- Lead and oversee the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial close processes in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Maintain strong technical accounting expertise, serving as the primary contact for auditors and ensuring readiness for all audit and SOX control requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including technical accounting and FP&A, to support financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost accounting activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across international locations, facilitating effective communication and alignment between the International finance teams in Switzerland, France and United States.
We know that every background is different, but to be best set for success we see you bringing:
- 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong preference for candidates who have previously transitioned into industry roles, ideally as a controller or senior accountant.
- Proven expertise in IFRS accounting standards is essential; knowledge of both CH & US GAAP is highly desirable.
- Experience working within an international, publicly listed organization, with a solid understanding of multi-entity finance and accounting operations. Experience in multinational environments, comfortable managing across regions and building strong cross-location relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership experience to manage international accounting teams and oversee the full accounting scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and readiness for external audits.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with the capability to liaise confidently with auditors and technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to SOX controls and compliance, with an understanding of how to support and collaborate with SOX leadership.
- Background in healthcare, software, or biotech industries is a plus but not required; a strong accounting foundation is paramount.
As a public organisation facing ongoing commercial growth, you will bring a success-oriented and solutions-focused mindset that embraces team collaboration, change, growth, and inclusion.
As an international organisation, English is our primary business language and you will need to bring full fluency in English. As part of your recruitment journey, you should expect to meet English-only speakers, so for best chances of success, you should include your CV in English. Non-English CVs have a high likelihood of being rejected at application stage.
You will be joining an organisation with the patient at the heart of every decision and action, driven by purpose as we pursue exponential growth.
