What You'll Work On
- Lead day-to-day execution across multiple platform UX engineering teams, including planning, backlog management, agile ceremonies, and operating rhythms.
- Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for Circle's frontend platforms, design systems, and shared UX capabilities used across products.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership on frontend architecture, performance, accessibility, and system design for large-scale, user-facing platforms.
- Establish and uphold engineering standards for frontend quality, reliability, performance, accessibility, and developer experience.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Brand, and Backend Platform teams to deliver cohesive, scalable, and consistent user experiences.
- Attract, develop, and retain high-performing frontend engineering leaders and teams through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Identify and proactively manage UX platform risks, dependencies, and technical debt while contributing to engineering-wide initiatives and cross-functional execution.
What You'll Bring to Circle
Core Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
- Significant experience leading frontend or UX platform engineering organizations in a product-driven environment.
- Proven success managing multiple teams through senior managers and technical leaders.
- Deep expertise building and scaling frontend platforms, design systems, and shared UI foundations used across multiple products.
- Strong hands-on technical background in modern frontend architectures, with the ability to review code, guide system design, and lead critical technical decisions.
- Experience delivering high-quality, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces at scale, including deep knowledge of web performance and accessibility standards.
- Ability to balance long-term UX platform strategy with pragmatic execution and delivery.
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional leaders to translate user and business needs into shared frontend capabilities.
- Passion for coaching, developing leaders, and enabling teams to do their best work.
- Experience leading globally distributed, remote-first teams.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced environments with high autonomy and responsibility.
