Position Summary:


Pendulum is seeking an experienced senior director of ecom to drive our direct-to-consumer business growth and make breakthrough microbiome products accessible to millions. The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of eCommerce experience with a proven track record of scaling 9-figure revenue, direct P&L management in B2C health/wellness, and success in building subscription businesses. You'll develop and execute comprehensive eCommerce strategy, create exceptional digital experiences that translate complex science into compelling customer journeys, and drive cross-functional alignment while fostering a culture of accountability. Strong analytical capabilities, technical proficiency, and startup experience are essential, along with 4+ years of people management experience. Success will be measured through revenue growth, P&L performance, and customer acquisition efficiency. 



What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive eCommerce strategy that aligns with Pendulum's mission of making breakthrough microbiome products accessible to millions
  • Own P&L responsibility for the eCommerce business, driving sustainable growth and profitability
  • Balance strategic vision with tactical execution in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Build and optimize subscription programs to improve customer retention and lifetime value
  • Design and implement referral and loyalty programs to drive organic growth 
  • Customer Experience & Product Innovation
  • Create an exceptional digital experience that effectively communicates our unique value proposition of pharmaceutical-grade efficacy with probiotic accessibility
  • Lead continuous optimization of the customer journey, from education about microbiome science to purchase and ongoing engagement
  • Drive data-informed decisions to improve site experience, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Drive alignment across teams by clearly communicating priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes
  • Build effective prioritization frameworks that balance business impact, technical feasibility, and resource constraints
  • Foster a culture of accountability and excellence through clear success metrics and regular progress reviews
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through transparent communication and proactive issue resolution
  • Lead by example in cross-functional meetings, ensuring productive collaboration and clear decision-making

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience
  • 8+ years of eCommerce experience with proven track record of scaling revenue to $200M+
  • Direct P&L management experience in B2C environment, preferably in health/wellness
  • Experience translating complex product benefits into compelling customer experiences
  • Success in building and scaling subscription businesses
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • Startup experience strongly preferred
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Strong data analysis capabilities with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong knowledge in eCommerce platforms and analytics tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred
  • Leadership & Strategic Capabilities
  • Outstanding strategic thinking with demonstrated ability to execute
  • Strong user experience intuition backed by data-driven validation
  • Proven ability to set and maintain high standards for team performance
