Overview:

USC Communications is seeking a Senior Director of Digital Strategy to join its team. Reporting to the Special Advisor/Associate Vice President, Advancement Communications, the Senior Director of Digital Strategy will strategically enhance the digital presence of University Advancement and Advancement initiatives across USC to engage audiences, acquire donors, and steward donors and alumni.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a strong background in digital marketing, strategy, and communications. The candidate should have expertise in managing large-scale digital properties, including websites, social media channels, microsites, and digital campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the strategy, design, implementation, maintenance, and reporting for advancement digital properties including the University Advancement and University Alumni Association websites, USCAA social media channels, microsites, and digital campaigns.

  • Develops and manages digital strategies to meet strategic goals, business objectives and user needs across University Advancement and the USC Alumni Association.

  • Develops and manages ongoing reporting on KPIs and ROI for all digital marketing efforts and makes strategic recommendations and improvements based on data.

  • Leads ongoing analysis, benchmarking, strategy, improvement and management of user experience (UX), tracking, reporting, performance data, captures and conversions across advancement digital properties, channel,s and posts.

  • Leads and manages a team of staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure alignment with strategic goals and high-quality output.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

This is a hybrid position under our current work arrangement plan, with the expectation of on-site presence in our offices in the USC Tower located adjacent to campus in downtown Los Angeles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Combined 5 years of experience as substitute for minimum education.

  • Management experience in journalism and public relations.

In addition, the successful candidate must also demonstrate, through ideas, words, and actions, a strong commitment to USC’s Unifying Values.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 7 years of experience.

  • Communications management experience within a university setting.
     

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $143,492.94 - $170,000.00 When determining an offer, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment, applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions.
