About the Role:

We are looking for a highly analytical, business-minded leader to join Tubi’s Content organization as Senior Director, Content Insights & Planning. This individual will lead a high-impact team responsible for delivering actionable insights and strategic guidance to inform content programming, merchandising, acquisitions, and Originals development decisions.

As a key partner to Tubi’s Data Science & Analytics (DSA), Finance, and Business Operations organizations, this leader will shape content discovery experiences, inform greenlight decisions, and influence platform-level strategies.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles office.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee data application to content planning, ensuring that content investment decisions are grounded in rigorous analysis and aligned with company growth goals.
  • Partner with DSA, Business Operations, Content Acquisitions & Partnerships, and Finance teams to ensure consistency, transparency, and alignment in how insights & metrics are shared and applied
  • Develop and deliver regular content and portfolio performance reporting (e.g., Weekly Business Review), translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations through data-backed storytelling that highlights key findings and business impact.
  • Drive insight-backed recommendations to support merchandising efforts across editorial curation and campaign execution—informing container strategy, title positioning, and the promotion of priority launches to maximize engagement and visibility
  • Guide individual title and portfolio-level performance analyses, including performance measurement, optimization recommendations, and attribution modeling
  • Use internal data and third-party research to uncover audience behavior, content demand, and competitive trends, providing actionable insights that inform content planning, investment strategy, and Originals greenlighting decisions.
  • Collaborate with Data Science & Analytics to ensure data infrastructure, dashboards, and content performance tools meet evolving business needs
  • Represent the Content organization in cross-functional planning forums, advocating for content priorities and surfacing opportunities for strategic collaboration.

Your Background

  • 10+ years of experience in content analytics, business intelligence, or strategic insights within a streaming or digital media environment.
  • Proven success translating complex data into actionable recommendations for creative and strategic stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the streaming landscape, including Originals development, content acquisition, and viewer behavior patterns.
  • Experience working closely with Content, Product, and Data Science teams to guide decisions and product evolution through insights.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level through data and narrative.
  • Experience working with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
  • Familiar with experimentation principles and measurement best practices
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
