Senior Director, CalAim Programs

Remote (Full Time)

Compensation: $170,000-$180,000

About Us

Zócalo Health is a tech-enabled, community-oriented primary care organization serving people who have historically been underserved by the one-size-fits-all  healthcare system. We partner with health plans, providers, and community organizations to deliver culturally competent primary care, behavioral health, and social care.

Our model is built for populations with high medical and social complexity, where fragmented care drives poor outcomes and unnecessary cost. We combine local, community-based teams with virtual care and modern technology to deliver coordinated, whole-person care where members live and receive support.

Founded in 2021, Zócalo Health is backed by leading healthcare and mission-aligned investors and is scaling rapidly across states and populations. We are building a durable care platform designed to perform in constrained healthcare environments and to lead the shift toward accountable, value-based care.

This role exists to ensure consistent execution of ECM, Community Supports (CS), and CHW programs across geographies and health plans. As part of a fast-growing team, you will be responsible for leading the execution layer of care delivery, ensuring workflows are created, updated, and followed, teams are accountable, and operational issues are surfaced and resolved quickly.

    • Ensure workflows defined by Payor Operations are executed consistently across all teams
    • Identify where workflows are not being followed and drive correction
    • Provide structured feedback to Payor Operations on workflow gaps or execution challenges
    • Partner on refinement of workflows without owning design
  • Cross-Functional Prioritization
    • Make tradeoff decisions across execution, capacity constraints, and workflow requirements
    • Escalate issues to Payor Operations, CHW Workforce, or Clinical Operations based on root cause
    • Coordinate with other functions to ensure alignment without overlapping ownership

    • Escalate unresolved issues to COO or cross-functional leadership when needed

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
