The Senior Director of Business Development will identify and develop new business opportunities, collaborating with marketing and operations to drive revenue growth.

This position will be responsible for identifying, targeting and developing new business opportunities through effective prospecting, networking, presenting, and direct sales efforts to drive the company's revenue growth. This key leader must collaborate with departments such as marketing, BD operations and business operations to ensure expeditious and thorough follow up on all leads and opportunities and converting them into customers.
Qualifications
- 9-12 years of sales or BD experience
- Bachelor’s degree,
- Understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development process desirable
- BD experience in clinical research, biopharma, CRO or similar service provider helpful
- Ability to work independently and on your feet to identify prospect concerns and address them
- Analytical mindset to think through prospects’ comments and frame a thoughtful response
- Ability to work in "build" roles and develop new sales contacts
- Experience managing a sales funnel, tracking activities, documenting transactions and correspondences, reporting systematically on sales activities in CRM
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite and a major CRM platform, preferably Saleforce.com
- Ability to travel 50%
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability
- Research industry development and emergence of new clinical research patterns, provide updates to BD colleagues in order to identify new sales opportunities
- Prospect via industry platforms such as Zymewire or professional sources such as LinkedIn Generate opportunities and manage them through sales funnel, including qualifying for upcoming projects, following up, and setting up sales presentations
- Customize sales presentation material, prep lead presenter, attend presentations, and complete follow up.
- Under the guidance of experienced BD colleagues, evolve skills to lead future sales presentation, obtain RFP, and marshal internal resources to respond and close deals
- Partner with marketing to coordinate key industry tradeshows.
- Attend tradeshows in order to promote home visits in general and EmVenio Research in particular
- Contribute to competitive intelligence effort with and ongoing market insights
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $131,300 - $218,900 per year.
Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, skills and other market-based factors.
