About the Role

Chainguard is looking for a visionary Senior Director of GTM Systems to build an AI-led technology ecosystem that powers our customer-facing teams. You’ll lead the strategy, development, and management of core GTM software systems and align technology with business goals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What you will do
  • Own the vision, strategy, and execution of Chainguard’s global GTM systems and business applications, ensuring they scale with rapid growth and support Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations.
  • Serve as the executive owner of the GTM tech stack, with Salesforce at the core, driving continuous optimization across lead-to-cash, quote-to-revenue, and customer lifecycle workflows.
  • Define and maintain a multi-year GTM systems roadmap, balancing near-term business priorities with long-term scalability, data integrity, and architectural excellence.
  • Lead the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of modern and AI-enabled GTM technologies, improving seller productivity, pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and customer engagement.
  • Partner deeply with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Security, and Product leaders to translate business strategy into scalable system design and process automation.
  • Support data governance, reporting, and analytics across GTM systems, ensuring trusted metrics, high-quality data, and actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Oversee complex system integrations across CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, customer success, billing, and data platforms, making thoughtful build/buy/partner decisions.
  • Establish best practices for release management, system reliability, change management, and compliance, aligned with Chainguard’s security and operational standards.
  • Act as a hands-on leader, with responsibility to build, mentor, and scale a high-performing GTM Systems / Business Applications team over time.
  • Operate as a strategic thought partner and escalation point, bringing a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability to mission-critical initiatives.
What we are looking for
  • 12+ years of experience building, scaling, and leading GTM systems or business applications in high-growth B2B SaaS or cloud-native environments.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with Salesforce architecture and implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Marketing Automation, Sales Engagement, Revenue Intelligence, Customer Success, and BI platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, ZoomInfo, Zendesk/Vitally, Sigma, or similar).
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end GTM architectures, including data flows, integrations, analytics, and automation across the customer lifecycle.
  • Experience acting as a product owner for internal platforms, balancing stakeholder needs, technical feasibility, and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional, transformational initiatives that improve alignment between business strategy, systems, and processes.
  • A strong passion for automation, AI, and emerging technologies, with practical experience introducing innovation while maintaining system stability and trust.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence executives, partner across teams, and develop high-performing technical organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with pipeline metrics, forecasting, data modeling, and executive-level reporting.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with a high bias for action, sound judgment, and ownership mentality.
  • Experience in security-conscious, compliance-driven environments is a plus

About Us

We live and breathe our company values:

  • We are customer obsessed — We focus on delivering solutions to our customers that create value and make their lives better.
  • We have a bias for intentional action — We prioritize, plan, try things, and fail fast.
  • We don't take ourselves too seriously (but we do serious work) — We are solving an important problem which takes focus, but we also like to enjoy the journey.
  • We trust each other and assume good intentions — We're transparent with decisions to empower team members to make well informed decisions.

A few of the benefits we offer:

  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs.
  • Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
  • 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
  • ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.

If your experience is close but doesn't fulfill all requirements, please apply. We're building the best team in technology and are focused on hiring "Chainguardians" with unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
