Job Description:

Job Summary

The Senior Director of Brand Strategy, Content & PR is responsible for developing and executing a strategic brand narrative and visual identity that brings the CSI brand to life through compelling storytelling, communications, and creative execution. This hands-on leader oversees the teams responsible for public relations, content, social media, and design to ensure that CSI's communications and creative work are consistent, differentiated, and aligned with the company's business objectives.

Working closely with CSI Marketing’s Demand Gen, Product Marketing, and Events teams, as well as Sales, Relationship Management, and executive leadership, the Senior Director helps strengthen CSI's market presence by maintaining brand standards, guiding corporate storytelling, and delivering high-quality communications that support awareness, engagement, and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and champion CSI's brand strategy, defining how the company is positioned, differentiated, and perceived in the market — and translating that strategy into a cohesive narrative, visual identity, and communications approach that drives awareness and business growth.

  • Serve as the steward of the CSI brand, establishing and enforcing brand standards across the organization to ensure communications, presentations, campaigns, and creative assets align with the company's identity and messaging.

  • Lead CSI's public relations strategy in conjunction with our PR agency partner, securing earned media, awards, and speaking opportunities and managing proactive and reactive communications — including messaging, press releases, executive positioning, and crisis response — to build and protect the company's reputation.

  • Direct CSI's content strategy and editorial calendar across owned channels — including thought leadership, blog, email, social media, video, and web — ensuring a consistent brand voice and a steady pipeline of high-quality, differentiated content that supports awareness, engagement, and demand generation.

  • Lead CSI's social media strategy across corporate and executive channels, growing audience, engagement, and share of voice through a consistent brand voice, community management, and social-first storytelling that amplifies the company's presence and thought leadership.

  • Provide creative and design leadership across the brand, directing visual identity, design systems, and creative production for campaigns, digital, presentations, events, and sales collateral to ensure a polished, on-brand, and differentiated look and feel across every touchpoint.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary brand team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, creative excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee relationships with external agencies, vendors, and freelancers while driving high-quality, efficient execution across brand, communications, and creative initiatives.

  • Establish processes that improve creative quality, brand consistency, speed of execution, and operational efficiency across Marketing.

  • Monitor brand performance, industry trends, and competitive positioning, recommending strategies that strengthen CSI's brand and market differentiation.

  • Manage the brand and communications budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional storytelling and messaging instincts, with the editorial judgment to shape compelling narratives across channels and audiences.

  • Ability to guide design work based on outstanding creative judgment and visual brand acumen.

  • Skilled at managing cross-functional initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and driving high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to inspire and drive a culture of accountability, reinforcing a high standard of quality, consistency, and brand alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in brand management, corporate communications, public relations, or marketing.

  • Experience leading creative, communications, or brand teams in a B2B technology organization. Experience in fintech or financial services companies is preferred.

  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Success Measures

  • Growth in brand awareness, consideration, and preference among target audiences, measured through brand tracking studies and market research.

  • Increased share of voice and improved competitive positioning relative to key market peers.

  • Increased volume and quality of earned media coverage, awards, and executive thought-leadership and speaking placements.

  • Content and social media engagement with measurable contribution to demand generation efforts.

  • Improved brand consistency, creative quality, and speed of execution across Marketing, alongside strong team engagement, retention, and internal stakeholder satisfaction.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
