We're looking for a Senior Director of Brand Marketing to define and scale Crunchyroll's global brand for anime fans. Reporting to the SVP, Brand & Community, you'll own the end-to-end brand vision and ensure Crunchyroll remains clear, distinctive, and culturally relevant in a fast-evolving global entertainment landscape.
You'll oversee brand strategy, campaigns, and creative expression across markets, balancing long-term brand equity with near-term growth. You'll shape how Crunchyroll shows up across campaigns, partnerships, and cultural moments, strengthening fan connection and expanding global reach. We ask that you have strong executive presence, cross-company influence, and the ability to operate at both strategic and operational depth.
Brand Strategy & Differentiation
- Define and evolve Crunchyroll's global brand strategy, positioning, and narrative in alignment with company vision and long-term growth objectives
- Serve as the primary steward of the brand, ensuring consistency, clarity, and differentiation across all consumer touchpoints
- Identify white space and emerging opportunities within anime, fandom, and broader culture
Integrated Brand Marketing & Growth
- Lead the development and execution of large-scale, integrated brand campaigns
- Drive emotional connection with fans while delivering measurable business impact, including subscriber growth
- Partner closely with Creative, Comms, Growth, Product Marketing, Content, and Regional teams
Creative, Storytelling & Cultural Impact
- Set the creative vision and bar for brand expression
- Oversee brand identity, voice, and storytelling across advertising, social, content and partnerships
- Lead brand moments tied to major releases, events, and cultural milestones
Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership
- Embed brand thinking across all teams and lines of business
- Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership on brand health and cultural relevance
- Align global and regional stakeholders around a unified brand vision
Team & Organizational Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global brand marketing team
- Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and success metrics
- Lead agency and partner relationships with high standards
Measurement & Insight
- Define and track brand health metrics including awareness, affinity, and advocacy
- Leverage fan insights and data to refine strategy and execution
- Balance qualitative cultural signals with quantitative performance data
We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.
