Senior Director, Adobe Commerce Strategy & Solutions 

This strategic leadership role is pivotal in driving significant client value and fostering business growth through the expert application of the Adobe Commerce platform and its surrounding ecosystem. Serving as a trusted advisor to executive-level clients and a key point of contact with Adobe, the Senior Director will spearhead the seamless integration of presales vision with high-impact delivery, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and optimized commerce operations, specifically leveraging Adobe Commerce. This role demands deep and current expertise in the Adobe Commerce platform, including its architecture, features, and integration capabilities, to architect innovative, scalable solutions and strategies that underpin successful implementations and ongoing client success within the Adobe ecosystem. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with Client Service and Business Development leadership to identify, cultivate, and expand strategic account opportunities centered around Adobe Commerce, crafting compelling solutions that maximize customer value realization through this leading platform. 


As a recognized thought leader in the Adobe Commerce space, the Senior Director will provide expert guidance to clients on leveraging their Adobe Commerce investments for sustained value, extending beyond initial implementation to continuous optimization, upgrades, and adoption of new Adobe features. This high-profile position will also champion our strategic partnership with Adobe, driving innovation, fostering Adobe product adoption within the organization (including App Builder/API Mesh and Edge Delivery Services), achieving critical Adobe certifications, and influencing the Adobe product roadmap. A balanced focus on direct client engagement 75% billable) and strategic business development (25% presales) specifically within the Adobe Commerce domain is essential for success in this role. 


Responsibilities: 

Strategic Adobe Commerce Client Engagement (Billable - 75%):  

Serve as the principal Adobe Commerce technical strategist and trusted advisor for key client engagements, providing deep platform expertise and a strong understanding of adjacent technologies within the Adobe ecosystem and relevant integrations (OMS, DOM, PIM, CMS). 


Architect and articulate compelling end-state and reference-state Adobe Commerce technology visions to executive client stakeholders, securing buy-in and guiding strategic decision-making specifically within the Adobe platform. 


Oversee and provide strategic direction to delivery teams focused on Adobe Commerce implementations, ensuring alignment with client objectives and the successful execution of complex programs within the Adobe ecosystem. 


Provide deep domain expertise in client business models, technology stacks (with a strong emphasis on Adobe Commerce), and data infrastructure, coupled with a broad understanding of digital marketing ecosystems relevant to Adobe integrations, to drive impactful solutions. 


Steer critical client programs and development initiatives centered on Adobe Commerce, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes and client satisfaction within the Adobe context. 


Offer advanced solutioning guidance and support to development teams on complex technical challenges specific to Adobe Commerce. 


Strategic Adobe Commerce Business Development (Presales - 25%):  

Partner strategically with Client Service and Business Development leadership to identify and qualify new business opportunities and cultivate follow-on work within existing accounts, with a primary focus on Adobe Commerce solutions. 


Lead the development of compelling and innovative Adobe Commerce solutions tailored to client needs, maximizing value through strategic platform utilization and leveraging the latest Adobe features. 


Identify, develop, and evangelize packaged Adobe Commerce-centric offerings and accelerators that enhance presales effectiveness and drive accelerated customer value realization and optimization on the Adobe platform. 


Collaborate closely with Adobe on product roadmap discussions, feature exploration (including App Builder/API Mesh and Edge Delivery Services), joint development initiatives, and strategic integration approaches to strengthen Bounteous' market position as an Adobe expert. 


Strategize, architect, and document scalable and tailored Adobe Commerce implementation approaches that address unique client requirements and business objectives within the Adobe ecosystem. 


Maintain a strong understanding of evolving Adobe Commerce architectural styles and approaches, including headless and composable commerce within the Adobe context, and expertly guide clients on the most suitable Adobe solutions. 


Develop and deliver compelling presentations and articulate subject matter expertise specifically in Adobe Commerce to prospective and existing clients. 


Lead the scoping and estimation process for complex Adobe Commerce-centric engagements. 


Facilitate and lead impactful customer-facing workshops, demos, and hands-on labs showcasing Bounteous' deep expertise in Adobe Commerce and related technologies. 


Provide thought leadership specifically in the Adobe Commerce space, actively contributing to Bounteous' differentiation as the go-to partner for Adobe Commerce implementations and strategies. 


Develop a deep understanding of each target client's business and available data to ensure proposed Adobe Commerce solutions are tightly aligned with their strategic marketing objectives and leverage Adobe's capabilities effectively. 


Translate complex business needs into clear and detailed technical requirements for Adobe Commerce platform configuration, data schemas, and system integrations within the Adobe ecosystem to effectively address client goals. 


Maintain continuous awareness of the latest Adobe Commerce features, updates, and best practices, and proactively learn and articulate their value proposition to clients. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

10+ years of progressive experience architecting and delivering complex commerce solutions with a strong emphasis on Adobe Commerce. 


5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a digital-first, global delivery agency or consultancy with significant Adobe Commerce expertise. 


Exceptional consultative and client-facing skills with a proven track record of confidently presenting to and influencing C-level executives and Boards of Directors on Adobe Commerce strategies. 


Deep and current working knowledge of the Adobe Commerce platform, including Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce Cloud, and a strong understanding of App Builder/API Mesh and Edge Delivery Services. 


Familiarity with the broader Adobe Experience Cloud suite and how Adobe Commerce integrates with other Adobe products (e.g., Analytics, Target, Experience Manager). 


Comprehensive familiarity with the commerce technology landscape and how it interacts with Adobe Commerce, including OMS, DOM, PIM, and WMS systems. 


Extensive experience integrating Adobe Commerce with diverse front-end and back-end systems. 


Highly self-motivated and results-oriented with a proven ability to work independently, define strategic direction for Adobe Commerce engagements, and solve complex problems within the Adobe ecosystem. 


Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong alliances and influence stakeholders at all levels regarding Adobe Commerce strategies and implementations. 


Outstanding executive presence, presentation, and negotiation skills with the capacity to inspire, engage, partner with, and influence senior leadership on Adobe Commerce initiatives. 


Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex Adobe Commerce technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 


Digitally savvy and well-informed on emerging innovations, trends, and technologies within the Adobe Commerce and broader digital marketing landscape. 


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent executive-level work experience with a strong focus on Adobe technologies. 


Information Security Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
  • Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
  • Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information
