Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Remote US
Compensation Range: $160,000 - $190,000 base plus bonus and equity
What We Do:
Founded in 2015 as a fully remote company by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress was built on a simple premise: to force hackers to earn every inch of their access.
Today’s cyber-attacks aren’t limited to large organizations with the security tools that can ward off threats. Hackers don't discriminate and will find a way to penetrate any vulnerability in any size business, which is why Huntress focuses on protecting those small to midsize businesses that make up the backbone of our economy.
Huntress stops hidden threats that sneak past preventive security tools by utilizing our award-winning security platform and expert human threat hunters through dynamic products, including Managed EDR, MDR for Microsoft 365, and Managed Security Awareness Training.
Join the hunt and help us stop hackers in their tracks!
What You’ll Do:
Huntress is growing our Platform Engineering team and is looking for an experienced engineer who is passionate about stability, resilience, and scalability. You’ll be joining a high-performing team responsible for proactively building, monitoring, and implementing the infrastructure that is a part of the Huntress Security Platform, providing a first-class development platform to our developers, and tracking and supporting the complete lifecycle of our millions of installed endpoint agents.
You’ll own and deliver improvements across our internal developer platform and day-to-day engineering workflows: designing, building, and evolving the tools, automation, CI/CD systems, and self-service capabilities that make it easier for Huntress engineers to build, test, deploy, and operate software reliably at scale. You will work alongside an innovative and diverse team of problem solvers that bring strong technical depth, high energy, and a bias toward removing friction so our product teams can move faster and with more confidence. As a Senior Platform Engineer focused on Developer Experience, you’ll lean heavily into hands-on implementation while also influencing system design, shaping platform standards, and helping drive best practices for developer productivity, reliability, and operational excellence across the organization. This role is more Dev than Ops, and will require a solid background in software development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop tools and frameworks to automate the operational tasks and deployments of services and applications for our Portal and Endpoint Agents in Azure and on end-user machines
- Build and evolve AI tooling and usage in daily development workflows
- Continue development on our internally-developed go-based CLI
- Develop tools in test and production environments to enable and accelerate the development teams to provide a world-class experience for our partners
- Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines (CI/CD)
- Support the product development teams’ ability to design and enhance software architecture to improve scalability, service reliability, cost, and performance
What You Bring To The Team:
- 7+ years experience with running a large application in cloud environments
- Experience building and deploying applications into containerized environments
- High coding proficiency – Ruby, Go, or Python required
- Experience with CircleCI, Github Actions or other CI/CD platforms
- Experience with workflow orchestrationTemporal is a plus.
- Experience with observability tools like DataDog, NewRelic, etc. is a plus
- Experience building tooling focused on making developers measurably more productive via better access, shorter work cycles and improved work lives
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, amplified by empathy for the developers using your tools every day
- Design and optimize workflows that bridge the gap between traditional development practices and AI-assisted engineering.
What We Offer:
- 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015
- Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays
- 12 weeks of paid parental leave
- Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans
- 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution
- Life and Disability insurance plans
- Stock options for all full-time employees
- One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office
- Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance
- $75 USD/month digital reimbursement
- Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth
Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are.
We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
We do discriminate against hackers who try to exploit businesses of all sizes.
