About the Role:
We are seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Senior Designer, Activewear to lead the design and development of trend-forward, performance-driven apparel. This individual will play a key role in building innovative collections across women's and/or men’s activewear categories that balance fashion, function, and commercial viability.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the design process from concept to final prototype across multiple product categories (e.g., leggings, bras, tops, outerwear)
Create seasonal trend, color, and fabric direction aligned with brand positioning and customer needs
Develop original, innovative silhouettes and construction details that reflect a deep understanding of technical performance wear
Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, tech design, and merchandising to ensure design intent is executed on time and within margin targets
Present design concepts, line plans, and seasonal boards to internal teams and retail partners
Oversee and mentor Associate or Assistant Designers, supporting their growth and development
Partner with sourcing teams to select materials that balance performance, cost, and sustainability goals
Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer insights
Travel domestically or internationally as needed for inspiration, development, or vendor collaboration
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
Minimum 7 years of experience in activewear design, preferably in both performance and athleisure categories
Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, and fabrications specific to activewear
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) and PLM systems (Centric preferred)
Excellent sketching, presentation, and storytelling skills
Strong understanding of costing, development timelines, and commercial goals
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience working with overseas vendors and manufacturing partners
Preferred:
Experience with licensed brands and/or working with key retail partners (e.g., Target, Walmart, department stores, etc.)
