Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Micron is developing silicon-to-systems solutions spanning technology development and advanced memory designs through product development, systems design, and validation to deliver world-class memory products. This team collaborates globally across design and verification organizations and partners closely with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, and Process Integration to optimize manufacturing outcomes for cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction.
As an Engineer - NVE Design, this role serves as a core technical individual contributor focused on the design and validation of the on-chip controller and mixed-signal circuitry in NAND Flash devices. The position contributes to architecture development and product definition, builds verification strategies and test plans, and executes subsystem to full-chip verification across RTL, firmware, and Verilog environments.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and review random-sequence testbench content by analyzing block-level specification documents for new and legacy features.
  • Build, enhance, and support SVA/SystemVerilog assertion-based verification environments, including UVM testbenches, for subsystem and full-chip Verilog verification.
  • Execute verification workflows including modeling and simulation using industry-standard simulators, and drive RTL code coverage and functional coverage closure.
  • Implement, enhance, and support automation tools and workflows to improve design verification efficiency using scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Develop synthesizable NAND models to enable FPGA emulation of ASIC controller designs and contribute to cross-group communication and standardization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience contributing to architecture development and product definition, test planning, system integration, and verification for controller and/or mixed-signal circuitry.
  • Experience developing and supporting verification testbenches and assertions for subsystem and full-chip verification (SystemVerilog/SVA/Verilog and UVM).
  • Experience with RTL code coverage and functional coverage analysis to meet coverage goals.
  • Experience building or supporting automation pipelines or tooling in an engineering environment (e.g., Perl and/or Python).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of at least one emulation platform such as Cadence Palladium, Mentor Veloce, or Synopsys Zebu.
  • Experience performing emulation FPGA builds for SoC designs and evaluating tradeoffs among build size, emulation speed, and debuggability.
  • Experience developing new transactors and hybrid emulation models.
  • Familiarity with model evaluation, dataset creation, and feature engineering.
  • Experience working with larger datasets using Python common ML/data libraries.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
