Job Duties and Responsibilities
As the Senior Demand Planner, you will play a critical role in optimizing our supply chain by forecasting customer demand and aligning it with production and inventory strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly video services S&OP process, collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, etc. to create precise demand forecasts that consider market trends, seasonality, and other influencing factors
- Apply advanced statistical models and data analysis techniques to generate demand forecasts that drive inventory and production planning, accounting for changes in demand due to factors such as pricing, promotional activities, and competitor moves
- Segment products based on demand variability and forecast predictability, suggesting forecasting methods accordingly
- Ensure synchronization of inventory levels with Manufacturing forecasting, procurement, etc. to optimize carrying costs, service levels, and production schedules
- Work alongside product development/portfolio teams to create accurate demand forecasts for new product launches and product end-of-life
- Conduct regular demand review meetings with stakeholders to discuss forecast accuracy, bias, trends, and necessary adjustments
- Analyze demand plans against inventory levels, identifying slow-moving or obsolete items, and proposing corrective measures
- Generate insightful demand-related reports, providing valuable inputs for informed decision-making
- Identify avenues for process improvements, enhancing data accuracy, and optimizing demand planning methodologies
- Continuously refine forecasting methodologies to improve forecast accuracy and alignment with actual demand
- Perform in-depth "What-If" demand planning analysis to gauge potential effects on sales, subscribers, supportability, and overall business profitability due to shifts in demand drivers
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree from a reputable four-year college or university is preferred, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered
- Experience in the video services industry, underlining your understanding of its intricacies and market dynamics
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and demand forecasting techniques, using tools like Excel, statistical-driven software and demand planning systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with complex data sets
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Attention to detail and an aptitude for accuracy in forecast generation
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and production planning
- Experience with demand planning software and ERP systems
- ASCM CPIM, CSCP or other relevant certifications are beneficial
- The ability to thrive and deliver results within a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
- Familiarity with business analysis tools and methodologies, financial analysis and budgeting processes
- Proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies
- Preferred skills of a Data Scientist, including proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau) and machine learning techniques
