Senior Deals Desk Manager, Strategic Finance (Remote)

Full-Time, Remote / Salary, Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Flexible Schedule, Equity

Steno is growing! We’re looking for a Senior Deals Desk Manager to join our winning team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond) and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry.

Who are you?

As we scale and expand into new markets, our sales team needs a partner who can accelerate deal approvals, structure complex pricing, and ensure every deal protects margin while winning business. You'll build the foundation of our pricing governance function, working directly with Sales Directors, Account Executives, and Finance leadership.

If you’re looking for a company that offers support, guidance, an abundance of killer giphys, and unlimited potential to grow into your best self, you can bet we’d love to have you too.

On a regular basis you will

  • Review and approve non-standard pricing requests using discount framework and approval matrix.
  • Analyze deal profitability and margin impact before approval, and partner with Sales to evaluate complex pricing scenarios, including multi-state deals, volume discounts, and strategic accounts.
  • You'll manage escalations and track approval metrics to ensure consistent governance.
  • Build custom pricing proposals and RFP responses using a CPQ platform that you’d help us launch, and structure package pricing across service lines with volume discounts.
  • You'll train Sales Directors and AEs on pricing policies and approval processes while providing real-time pricing guidance during negotiations to keep deals moving forward.
  • Generate quotes and execute pricing approvals through CPQ workflow. Partner with RevOps on platform optimization and improvements, and test new CPQ features before rollout to ensure smooth implementation.

You’re gonna crush it if

  • You bring 3-5 years of experience in deal desk, sales ops, revenue ops, or pricing at a B2B services or SaaS company.
  • You have strong Excel/Sheets skills and can build pricing models, calculate margins, and analyze profitability with confidence.
  • You excel at cross-functional communication, able to say no diplomatically and explain complex pricing clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • You are detail-oriented and fast-moving, catching errors without slowing deals down or creating bottlenecks.
  • You are commercially minded and understand that the goal is to win business profitably, not just enforce rules.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities shift and you can adapt quickly.

Bonus Points if

  • You have hands-on experience with CPQ platforms such as Salesforce CPQ, DealHub, or PandaDoc.
  • You have experience working in B2B services, staffing, or marketplace environments.
  • You are proficient with HubSpot or Salesforce CRM systems.
  • You have knowledge of professional services pricing models and practices.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary - $130,000 - $170,000
  • Health, Vision, & Dental Benefits - low-cost health plans that free up mind space and unlock our employees' best work
  • Wellness/Mental Health - shared benefits to be used among employees and families
  • Flexible Paid Time Off - allowing employees to find balance in their lives
  • Options of Equity - we know our success is nothing without our team
  • Access to a company-provided 401(k) account
  • A home office setup and a monthly stipend to offset internet and phone costs

Our Finance team is a small but hard-working group focused on optimizing Steno’s financial processes and maximizing its performance. We work and support other teams across the organization. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
