What You’ll Do

As a Database Support Engineer, you’ll support various critical database platforms across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments. You will partner closely with application teams, application support, and database engineers and operate within a global support model to ensure availability, performance, and reliability of database services. Specifically, you will:

  • Provide operational support for enterprise database platforms in on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud environments
  • Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability, respond to alerts, diagnose issues, and perform timely remediation
  • Perform routine maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, and housekeeping
  • Troubleshoot database‑related incidents and collaborate on root cause analysis
  • Work closely with application owners, support teams, and database engineers
  • Provide guidance on database best practices and operational standards
  • Participate in problem resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of automation and self-service capabilities for database platforms
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to reduce toil and increase platform efficiency
  • Participate in a 24/7 global support model, including shift‑based coverage and handoffs

What’s Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in database administration and infrastructure engineering
  • Strong experience delivering services on multiple database technologies such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and/or Sybase
  • Strong knowledge of cloud‑based database services including AWS Aurora, RDS DB, EC2, EBS, and/or S3.
  • Hands-on expertise with scripting using PowerShell, Korn Shell, Python, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of observability tooling and operational monitoring design
  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure with strong ownership and an accountability mindset
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for building scalable, reliable, self-service platforms
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000-$300,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
