The Senior Database Developer & Database Administrator is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable database systems that support the organization’s applications and business processes. This role ensures databases are optimized for performance, secure, backed up, and aligned with industry best practices. The senior-level position also involves overseeing database architecture, troubleshooting advanced issues, and guiding junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
    •    Design, develop, and optimize database structures, stored procedures, functions, and queries.
    •    Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot production and development databases.
    •    Implement data models, ensure data integrity, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
    •    Monitor database performance and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
    •    Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patches.
    •    Establish and maintain backup, recovery, and security protocols.
    •    Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and project managers to support application development.
    •    Review and refine complex SQL scripts to improve efficiency and reliability.
    •    Maintain documentation on database configurations, processes, and standards.
    •    Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and DBAs.

Requirements
    •    Strong experience with relational database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
    •    Proficiency in SQL, database design, and performance tuning.
    •    Solid understanding of database security, user roles, and access management.
    •    Experience with ETL processes, data integration, and automation tools.
    •    Familiarity with cloud database environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    •    Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues under minimal supervision.
    •    Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail.
    •    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
