Senior Data Scientist

The Data Science & Machine Learning team is looking for a Data Scientist. We are a group of curious data scientists and machine learning engineers who solve challenges with durable data solutions. We collaborate to develop and integrate data science models into company practices and the product to unlock value for Squarespace and its customers.

You will support marketing investment decisions through statistical modeling, test design, and causal inference techniques. In addition to this main focus, you will also work on projects that enhance the product experience.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to our Senior Manager, Data Science & Machine Learning.

You'll Get To…

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Strategists, and Engineers to identify opportunities and deliver data science solutions
• Prototype different approaches to identify the best data solutions for business problems
• Design, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine-learning models in business- and customer-facing applications; for example, marketing mix modeling, customer lifetime value modeling, and customer segmentation
• Continuously validate and improve model performance through iterative testing, tuning, and feature engineering
• Propose, design, and execute marketing lift tests leveraging both traditional A/B test designs and model-based approaches like causal impact
• Research advancements in data science and machine learning to evaluate new techniques and technologies for potential application

Who We're Looking For:

• Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience working in a Data Science or similar role (Ph.D's welcome too - not required!)
• Experience developing statistical or ML models, experience with Bayesian inference, marketing mix modeling, or lifetime value modeling
• Strong competency with Python and SQL
• Experience communicating data science solutions to technical and non-technical audiences

Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $207,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
