Job Description:

Senior Data Scientist 
The Senior Data Scientist at DTN will be a key member of the Data Science team, responsible for advancing and innovating predictive and prescriptive models to enhance decision-making across industries such as energy, agriculture, and weather. The role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse set of data sources and advanced modeling techniques to deliver actionable insights that impact business strategies and customer solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape the future of DTN’s offerings by improving data science methodologies and driving innovation in product development. 
 

What you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced predictive and prescriptive models to solve complex business challenges. 

  • Conducting exploratory data analysis and feasibility studies to identify key insights and data science opportunities. 

  • Utilizing machine learning, statistical methods, and big data techniques to analyze unstructured data and deliver solutions for product enhancement and client services. 

  • Partnering with business and engineering teams to define data-driven strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives. 

  • Developing dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate model outputs and insights to stakeholders and leadership. 

  • Staying current with emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and big data analytics to continually enhance DTN’s capabilities. 

  • Representing DTN data science in customer meetings and discovery sessions, articulating insights and driving business value. 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions. 

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, and experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks. 

  • Expertise in data analysis, predictive modeling, statistical modeling, and big data technologies. 

  • Experience in the energy, agriculture, or weather industries is a plus. 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
