What you will do:
Reporting directly to the Audit Analytics Director, the Data Analytics Engineer enables GIA Data Analysts and Audit Teams to deliver efficient data-driven audit testing through curated datasets and self-serve applications.
- Identify, integrate, and operationalise new data sources into the GIA Data Analytics environment
- Run data input quality checks to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Develop scheduled data preparation routines to transform raw inputs into curated datasets with time-stamping for historical accuracy
- Document data integration processes and train others to eliminate single points of failure
- Maintain an organised data analytics library including field definitions, data limitations, and provenance details
- Maintain the GIA Data Analytics AWS platform. Manage vulnerabilities, patching, data and code backups.
- Mentor Data Analysts and Internal Audit teams on the use of available data
Qualifications
What you will bring:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Degree with high technical content
- Fluent English
- Experience connecting to diverse data sources through APIs, SQL databases, and other methods, and developing data pipelines
- Expert in data processing, automation, and analytics using Python (Pandas, NumPy, SQLAlchemy, and ETL workflows)
- Experience with AWS or Azure equivalents (Terraform, S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, Athena, IAM, CloudShell)
- Knowledge of internal audit workflows, risk assessment, and control testing models
- Experience building pipelines preserving evidence chains and audit logs
- Experience with AI would be advantageous.
