We partner with leading streetwear, apparel, footwear, beauty, and home goods brands to unlock new revenue for all types of inventory. Through transparency, data insights, and a network of vetted buyers, Ghost empowers sellers to diversify and optimize their inventory management. Backed by top VC firms (Cathay, USV, Equal, Eniac, L. Catterton), Ghost is one of LA’s fastest-growing startups.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data team and help scale how data supports decision-making across the business. This role will focus on empowering the Revenue, Business Operations, and Finance & Accounting departments.

You’ll be a key player in building core reporting frameworks—including forecasting and tiering models that directly drive growth strategy. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations to turn raw data into actionable insights, architect reusable datasets, and design self-serve analytics tools. If you thrive at the intersection of analysis, tooling, and business strategy, you will make a visible, company-wide impact.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Reporting Analytics

  • Build and own reporting frameworks for Revenue and Business Operations, including forecasting and tiering logic.
  • Develop impactful dashboards in BI tools (Metabase) to surface insights.
  • Thrive in storytelling via dashboarding, transforming your stakeholders concepts and strategic questions into clear reusable dashboards.
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile and automate key reporting in Metabase and Google Sheets.

Data Modeling

  • Write advanced SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions) across complex, multi-source and raw datasets.
  • Design and model fact/dimension tables and presentation datasets and deliver models to Data Engineering.
  • Design and model tables in Metabase’s semantic layer to be used by non-technical stakeholders for self-service (similar to LookML).
  • Lead QA and validation processes to ensure trust and accuracy in reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and clear deliverables.
  • Lead weekly analytics syncs with Revenue leadership and respond to ad-hoc requests.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an analytics or data-focused role.
  • Proven expertise in SQL and BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Strong track record of building data models, dashboards, and reports that directly inform business strategy.
  • Familiarity with revenue, sales, or finance analytics is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable working with raw or loosely modeled data.
  • Strong communication and visual storytelling skills for business audiences.
  • Ability to translate broad, ambiguous questions into structured analysis.
  • High attention to detail, ownership mindset and thrives in a start-up environment
  • This role will work out of our Los Angeles office, minimum 3 days per week

Why Join Our Data Team?

  • Work with a modern data stack and have real ownership over core reporting infrastructure.
  • Be at the center of high-impact growth decisions, with visibility across Revenue, Finance, and Operations.
  • Join a fast-moving, collaborative team where your work directly shapes strategy.
  • Be part of a high-performing team and company transforming a massive industry

Our total compensation for this position can range from $140,000 - $165,000. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Benefits we offer:

  • Medical, Vision, and Dental with some plans covered at 100%
  • Competitive compensation and equity structure
  • 401K
  • Unlimited PTO

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
