Introduction to the team

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Creative Strategist to lead the development of high-impact creative assets and channel strategies across paid social, display, programmatic, and related performance assets. This role blends creative excellence with strategic depth - not only ensuring campaigns look exceptional and drive measurable business outcomes, but also shaping how we show up on the platforms where our audiences live.

As a key connector between Integrated Marketing, Growth Marketing, and Creative teams, you will connect upstream business objectives and brand priorities to downstream creative output - ensuring nothing gets lost in translation between the brief and the asset. Equally important, you will partner with the Creative Director and tech platform partners to develop innovative creative programs and first-to-market opportunities that give us a competitive edge. With a strong creative strategy background, in-house experience, and the ability to manage agencies and internal designers, you'll bring structure, collaboration, and strategic ambition to our performance creative function. Above all, you'll be focused on driving creative performance results.

In this role, you will focus on:

Creative Strategy & Development

  • Lead creative strategy for paid performance channels including Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Display, and Paid Search - with a point of view on how each channel should be used distinctively, not interchangeably
  • Connect upstream business objectives and brand priorities to downstream creative output, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation between the brief and the asset
  • Develop channel-specific creative strategies that reflect deep platform knowledge, audience behavior, and format innovation
  • Ensure creative aligns with brand identity while meeting channel-specific performance best practices
  • Present creative strategy recommendations and performance insights to cross-functional partners and leadership

Platform Partnerships & Innovation

  • Build channel-native creative and unlock value-add innovation with platform studios - Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest - ensuring EG shows up with intention within those ecosystems
  • Proactively identify and develop creative opportunities through platform betas, funded innovation programs, creator ecosystems, and AI capabilities that accelerate EG's creative transformation
  • Represent the brand in platform conversations, bringing internal briefs and business objectives to the table and returning with bespoke opportunities that unlock value
  • Partner with Growth and Brand teams to pilot first-to-market formats, translate platform learnings into scalable playbooks, and ensure EG is consistently positioned as a preferred creative partner
  • Stay ahead of platform roadmaps, algorithm shifts, and creative product launches to influence our strategy before trends become table stakes

Creative Production

  • Collaborate with in-house designers, copywriters, and external agencies to bring ideas to life with creative excellence and performance alignment
  • Oversee end-to-end production of creative assets including static, motion, video, creator/UGC, and app store visuals
  • Maintain creative asset libraries to support efficient versioning, localization, and testing processes

Performance Optimization

  • Partner with Growth, channel platforms, and Integrated Marketing teams to analyze performance data and translate insights into creative improvements
  • Implement and manage structured creative testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate)
  • Continuously refine messaging, visuals, and formats to maximize campaign efficiency and effectiveness
  • Focus on business impact metrics such as iROAS, conversion rate, and CPA to ensure creative work contributes directly to growth goals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Integrated Marketing, Growth, Brand Studio, and other teams to ensure creative consistency across touchpoints
  • Act as the creative lead and point of contact for agency and production partners
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including platform partners

Experience and qualifications

  • 10+ years in creative strategy, with at least 3+ years focused on performance marketing assets and channel strategy
  • Demonstrated experience working with platform partners (Meta, YouTube/Google, TikTok, Pinterest) with a track record of developing innovative, co-created, or first-to-market programs
  • Strong design or creative strategy background with a portfolio demonstrating expertise across Meta, TikTok, Google Display, DV360, App Store/Google Play, and emerging platforms
  • Proven in-house experience collaborating with cross-functional marketing teams and managing creative production
  • Expertise in writing creative briefs and managing external agencies or production partners
  • Deep understanding of the distinct creative mechanics, audience behaviors, and ad products across major paid social platforms — not just how to use them, but how to push them

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
