Brand Overview – Splendid

Join the Splendid family where our love of softness drives all we do, from the fabric of our clothes to the moments we create in our stores, with our customers, and in our communities. At Splendid we believe in bringing people together. In good company and great conversation. We believe in taking time to enjoy the little things and more importantly, celebrate the big things. We think that people should cherish every moment. Live it up. Laugh out loud. Play a little. We believe that home is truly where the heart is and that you should be able to bring a little piece of it with you everywhere you go. That's why what we create fits seamlessly into the lives of our customers. Splendid offers the opportunity to bring this vision to life in our stores.

Role Overview

Splendid is a women’s lifestyle brand with a meaningful mission to uplift women to feel their best through clothing. The Marketing Team is looking for a Sr. Creative Content Strategist. In this role you are more than a storyteller — you are the architect of our brand voice and, increasingly, an AI content engineer. You’ll connect storytelling with structure, balance empathy with data, and fuse creative vision with technology. You’ll lead the charge in shaping how our customers experience our brand across every touchpoint: print, digital, and in-store. This senior-level role requires owning the vision and roadmap for content and weaves together brand values, seasonal storytelling, and product marketing into one powerful, holistic narrative that both inspires and drives results.

Reporting to the Sr. Brand Director within the Marketing Dept., you’ll serve as the guardian of brand voice and editorial excellence, ensuring our copy is not only elevated and consistent, but also unforgettable. This is a role for someone who sees content as culture-shaping, who thrives on transforming insights into ideas, and who knows that words have the power to turn customers into communities. With a sharp editorial eye and a strong understanding of the retail fashion landscape, this role ensures content not only inspires but also drives business results.

Content is the bridge between our brand and our customer. As our Sr. Creative Content Strategist, you won’t just tell stories — you’ll define them. You’ll help transform seasonal campaigns into cultural conversations, product launches into lifestyle moments, and everyday touchpoints into extraordinary experiences. This is an opportunity to lead with imagination, shape the voice of Splendid, and leave a lasting mark on how we connect with the world.

Responsibilities

Lead & Elevate Content

  • Own the seasonal content calendar and roadmap, ensuring integration of brand narrative, product priorities, and marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Partner with Ecommerce, Merchandising, Creative, and Design to bring product storytelling to life in innovative, compelling ways.
  • Empower the team with holistic content briefs and clear editorial frameworks ensuring all executions (email, site, paid media, social, in-store) ladder back to a single, unified strategy.
  • Write and oversee copy for email, digital, social, in-store, and print — ensuring every word strengthens brand affinity and inspires action.
  • Project manage content initiatives at a senior level—owning timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment to ensure flawless execution.

Shape Strategy & Drive Results

  • Define campaign narratives with senior leaders and guide creative concepts that resonate with our customer.
  • Translate consumer insights, cultural trends, and retail data into actionable storytelling strategies that spark engagement and fuel growth.
  • Lead quarterly brand content strategy reviews, championing data-driven creativity and identifying opportunities to push the brand forward.
  • Harness AI tools to work smarter (from optimizing PDP copy, testing campaign variations, A/B testing email subject line variations) ensuring efficiency without sacrificing brand voice or strategic quality.

Inspire & Influence

  • Be the content voice in cross-functional meetings, ensuring strategy leads execution.
  • Champion best practices in social-first storytelling for retail/fashion (emails that convert, site storytelling that elevates product, social that inspires + drives engagement).
  • Create compelling presentations that bring strategy to life for partners, grounding decisions in both vision and impact.
  • Mentor and inspire junior talent, cultivating a culture of curiosity, creativity, and editorial excellence.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years in content strategy/copywriting, with at least 3 years in senior roles at fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands
  • Proven ability to craft and execute content strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion
  • A sharp editorial background (you’re equal parts strategist and wordsmith)
  • Deep knowledge of fashion/retail calendars and how to translate product drops into cultural moments
  • Finger on the pulse of digital, social, and cultural trends — with the ability to make them brand-relevant
  • Exceptional communication skills: you can influence senior leaders and inspire creative teams alike
  • “Big picture” thinker with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach. Comfortable driving both high-level strategy and day-to-day execution
  • A visionary mindset paired with a hands-on approach. You can zoom out to set the north star and zoom in to get the details right

This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Downtown LA office

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
