CCL’s Senior Counsel are instrumental in navigating complex legal challenges, mitigating risks, and ensuring organizational compliance with the ever-changing web of laws and regulations. They collaborate closely with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to safeguard the organization's interests, while also fostering innovation and growth. Senior Counsel must possess an excellent academic background, substantial experience in legal practice, and a proven track record of handling intricate legal matters. This individual will provide authoritative counsel on a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from commercial transactions, marketing, real estate, corporate governance, including IT and cyber-security, and regulatory and sustainability compliance. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment where your legal acumen and leadership capabilities will significantly impact the organization’s trajectory.

Senior Corporate Counsel Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide legal advice and support to various business units
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Advise on corporate governance matters
  • Real estate and lease agreements
  • Advise on IT and Cyber-security
  • Advise on Sustainability
  • Conduct legal research and keep abreast of legislative changes
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures
  • Support M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives

Senior Counsel Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate setting
  • Experience with complex commercial transactions
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills
  • Advanced degree in law (LL.M or equivalent)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the state bar and in good standing
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience
  • Expertise in corporate law, including commercial contracts and litigation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
