About Kurv

Kurv is a PE-backed credit card processor helping businesses accept payments smarter and faster. With 300+ employees and growing, we move fast, work collaboratively, and are building a marketing team that matches our ambition in the market.

About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned Senior Copywriter to be the voice behind Kurv's most important communications. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you'll write and edit copy across nearly every touchpoint that shapes how our merchants, partners, and employees experience the Kurv brand — from lifecycle emails and product announcements to executive thought leadership and internal communications.

This is a writer's role at its core, but it's also a strategic one. You'll be expected to understand our audiences deeply (direct merchants, ISO/Agent partners, ISVs, and employees), translate complex payments concepts into clear and compelling language, and bring consistency and craft to everything Kurv puts in writing. The ideal candidate is a B2B payments veteran who can write with authority about interchange, processing, and risk in one breath, and craft a warm welcome email to a new merchant in the next.

What You'll Do

Lifecycle & Customer Marketing

  • Write and edit lifecycle marketing copy across the customer journey — Early Life, In Life, Advocacy, and Retention — for merchants, ISO/Agent partners, and ISVs

  • Develop audience-specific messaging that drives engagement, adoption, retention, and advocacy

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to build cohesive, on-brand email series, transactional comms, and operational updates

  • Tailor voice and tone to each audience segment while maintaining a unified Kurv brand voice

Product, Announcements & Newsletters

  • Craft product announcement copy that translates technical capabilities into clear merchant and partner value

  • Write and edit Kurv's external and internal newsletters, ensuring each issue is sharp, scannable, and on-brand

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Operations teams on launches, feature releases, and adoption campaigns

Social Media & Events

  • Help to develop social media copy and editorial content that reinforces Kurv's positioning and supports campaign moments

  • Assist in writing event-related copy: invitations, signage, presentation support, follow-ups, and post-event communications

  • Support thought leadership content for LinkedIn, Medium, and other channels

Internal Communications

  • Write and edit copy for Kurv internal communications, including all-hands messaging, employee newsletters, culture initiatives, and leadership communications

  • Help cross-functional teams translate vision and updates into clear, employee-facing language

Editorial Standards & Brand Voice

  • Serve as a guardian of Kurv's brand voice across all written touchpoints

  • Maintain and evolve the Kurv copy style guide and editorial standards

  • Edit and elevate copy produced by other team members and cross-functional partners

  • Bring a high editorial bar to everything Kurv publishes — grammar, clarity, structure, and story

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Brand, Lead Gen, Sales, Product Marketing, Communications, and Operational teams to align messaging across initiatives

  • Translate complex payments concepts (interchange, settlement, chargebacks, underwriting, integrations) into copy that resonates with each audience

  • Manage multiple concurrent writing projects, deadlines, and stakeholders without sacrificing quality

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of copywriting experience, with significant time spent in the B2B payments, fintech, or financial services space

  • Deep working knowledge of the payments ecosystem — merchants, ISOs, agents, ISVs, processors, acquirers — and the ability to write fluently about it

  • A portfolio that demonstrates range: lifecycle emails, product launches, thought leadership, social, long-form, internal comms

  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for voice, clarity, and consistency

  • Strong strategic instincts — you understand that great copy starts with audience, objective, and message, not the page

  • Experience writing for multiple audience segments and adapting voice without losing brand cohesion

  • Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects with shifting priorities

  • Excellent collaboration skills and comfort partnering with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, and Leadership

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing for merchant-facing audiences (SMB, mid-market, or enterprise)

  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership and ghostwriting

  • Background in regulated industries where compliance-sensitive copy is the norm

  • Familiarity with SEO copywriting fundamentals

Why Kurv
We're an established, PE-backed company with the resources to do things right and the energy to move fast. You'll join a collaborative marketing team where your work is visible, your ideas are heard, and the events you run actually matter to the business. If you thrive in a high-output environment and want true ownership over a real events program, this is the role for you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
