The Copywriter will work as a collaborative part of Munchkin's award-winning Brand Design team and is responsible for crafting the voice of the brand across multiple touch points, including digital media (Munchkin.com, emails, and digital advertising), physical consumer experiences (retail and events), product naming and packaging, PR efforts, and internal projects. The Copywriter is expected to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and create polished, final deliverables whether working solo or with other creatives.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction of Munchkin's branding, marketing, and advertising initiatives
  • Own and enforce the brand voice across all channels, develop/take lead in creating product messaging alongside brand.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and exceptional entrepreneurial/visionary qualities; Recognize what the business needs, and anticipate the needs of cross-functional partners, ask the right questions to get the information needed to make an informed decision.
  • Work in Munchkin's in-house Brand Design team to create strategic marketing assets for projects including, but not limited to, product packaging, digital marketing (email, web banners, social media, digital experiences, social assets, etc.), retail displays, internal sales communication, video content
  • Translate creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts
  • Be a steward of and maintain the Munchkin Brand in all creative created in-house, develop a copy style guide to insure the copy consistency throughout the brand
  • Must be a team player, able to work within budgets and tight deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative evolution - stay up to date with branding and advertising in all mediums
  • Liaise with the Compliance Team to get naming, copy, and claims reviewed and approved

Bring It!
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with English/Journalism focus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in an advertising or in-house creative role, both print and digital marketing/advertising experience, with emphasis in CPG branding.
  • Mastery of written communication, both short- and long-form
  • Proven creative ability
  • Experience concepting and writing smart, relatable, and on-trend short-form content for social platforms, ideally with an understanding of parenting trends and tone.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, even when they are not fully defined
  • Ability to present and sell creative ideas
  • A solid understanding of marketing and advertising principles
  • Digital portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to actively contribute to strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution
  • Ability to understand technical content and quickly learn new material.
  • Flexibility and resilience, including ability to adapt to changing/uncertain conditions.
  • Solid understanding of consumers' interaction with various media and strength in adjusting language based on medium.

Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000
