The Senior Copywriter, Content & Brand will be responsible for shaping how customers experience our brand through words. You will develop clear, compelling, on-brand copy and content that helps small business owners understand, trust, and adopt Wave.

You will write across the full customer journey — from blogs, guides, and customer stories, to emails, landing pages, ads, and campaigns — while ensuring our voice, messaging, and brand personality are consistent across everywhere we show up. You bring together creativity, strategy, and data in your copy. You understand how to tell a story, simplify complex ideas, and create content that builds confidence, drives engagement, and supports business goals.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Write and develop copy and content across channels —  including blogs, customer stories, lifecycle emails, landing pages, paid ads, video scripts, social media, and campaigns assets

  • Bring Wave’s brand personality, tone of voice, and messaging to life in a way that feels human, clear, confident, and distinctly Wave

  • Help evolve and maintain Wave’s messaging architecture, including messaging maps, terminology, tone of voice, and copy guidelines, to ensure consistency across every customer touchpoint

  • Partner closely with Growth Marketing, Lifecycle, Product Marketing, Brand, Product and Customer teams to translate needs and business goals into compelling content and copy

  • Create content that helps customers move through the journey — from awareness and consideration to activation, engagement, and retention

  • Use customer insights, research and performance data to continuously improve the effectiveness of copy and content

  • Track results, identify patterns, test new approaches, and apply learnings to future content and campaigns

  • Contribute to and maintain copy guidelines for internal teams, freelancers, and agency partners to ensure consistency at scale

  • Review and edit copy from other contributors to ensure all copy and content is on-brand, grammatically correct, and tailored to the audience, channel, and moment

  • Stay current on customer behaviour, content trends, and competitor messaging to continuously improve how Wave communicates.

You'll thrive here if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting or content writing, or brand/content marketing (experience in tech, SaaS, fintech is a bonus!)

  • A Journalism, Marketing, or Communication diploma/degree or equivalent experience

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong ability to adapt tone, voice, and messaging to different audiences and channels

  • A strong understanding of how to write copy and content that reflects and reinforces a brand’s personality rather than your own

  • The ability to create high-quality copy across a diverse formats — from CTA buttons, emails, and ads, to blogs, guides, landing pages and full website experiences

  • An understanding of SEO fundamentals and how to write content that performs in search while maintaining the human feel

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining a high bar for quality and attention to detail

  • Data-driven storytelling that draws on marketing insights from various data sources with experience tracking, measuring, reporting on, and learning from content performance

  • A bias for action, ownership, and sound judgement about when to move forward independently and when to seek help and guidance for the best outcome

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
